Gus!!!
Harrahs; Live action-generally supports one (1) 1-3 NL table per weekday, sometimes two. 4-8 if there is interest...Only one (1) really good daily tournament on thursdays that will bring in approx. 30 players.

Horseshoe; Generally...All you can eat for live action on weekdays. Best weekly tournament is Sat @ 4pm 10K Guaranteed for a 160 buy-in.

Wife; Outlet stores on HWY 60, Tunica Riverboat ride...always Graceland and Beal ST. in Memphis.

Basically, for the days you are coming Harrahs should have a modest live action game and The Shoe will have decent live action. Not alot for really good tournaments Sun-Weds... If you like small daily tourneys, the Strike will have good turn outs on Mon, Tues. Enjoy!

Last trip to Tunica, I played for about 6 hrs at Harrahs before heading over to the Shoe. It was early afternoon, so less drunk spewtards, but overall it was soft. There I played fairly tight and Cbet everything. Nobody really caught on to the fact that I slowed down when I didnt hit. Was up 160 when I left without much danger to my chips.

Not all regs. if you have either of the two Regs. on the table you will know it shortly, both are excellent players, (WSOP Ring winners), tight on live action- but also willing to loosen for an action player. It can be a fun table.

The Brush is very attentive and will fetch what ever you need and the floor is friendly. Dealers are like everywhere else, some good - some not.

An interesting side note not known by many locals: One of the regular players, (not local, but regular), finished a WSOP World Championship Main Event in 4th "back in the day" (1987?) Final Table w/ Chan, Lederer, Harrington and other big guns...

Hope you make the trip, basically the action is there but on a weekday you have to work for it-

I am in love with the Gold Strike. Sitting in my hotel room drinking some black label before I go to bed and leave for home tomorrow morning. Mgmt recognizes me and treats me with a lot of respect, and will go out of their way for you if needed. As I posted before, I still haven't been to another casino to compare but I am very pleased with the Strike.

If you check in after 3:30am you get an extra day to check out. Basically you get two nights for one rate of $43 and change. Excellent deal. Food here is awesome too. The breakfast at the Atrium is top notch. If you haven't tried the lobster egg benedict you must try it.

There are a lot of regs during the weeks I've been. Half the table tbh. Some with leaks and others are pretty solid. I have not had the opportunity to play on the weekend yet. A couple of players have told me the room fills up on the weekend. During the early part of the week you can expect 2 1/2 NL tables running. Always huge stacks with a handful of players with 5+ buy-ins plus late night. Games can be soft at times while other times I find myself not having much of an edge. Regardless, every time I have to leave Tunica it depresses me and I look forward to the next week.

I plan to make a trip down here soon. From what I've been able to gather thus far, it's the Horseshoe for rings, and looks like Sam's Town for tourneys.

What types of NL games are running at the HS generally throughout the week/weekend? Correct me if I'm wrong in thinking the HS is the softest/most active.

Sam's Town has a nice 'low limit' buyin tourney structure which is more of what I'm looking for. Earlier starting times (11am) and the 20-60 range. Am I missing something similar from other casinos?

And how many generally play in the different tourneys on weekdays/weekends?

Thanks much.

Well my love with Gold Strike was short lived. I had one of the worst experiences of my life there tonight. I got into it with a black dealer. If you play there you will eventually come upon her. We got into it, and she refused to deal to me at the table. I then went to the counter then got HARASSED by security. I felt like a ****ing piece of ****. I had security come up to me, radio to everyone about a kid in a white cap.

For someone who has almost stayed for two weeks straight I am obligated to be pissed. I demanded to speak to [name removed], the poker room manager, and was refused by the poker mgmt AND head desk at the counter. I will never stay here again after tonight. I can spend $500/week elsewhere. **** the Gold Strike.

I have absolutely no idea what happened, but if they were all that united against you (you cite the dealer, security, poker mgmt AND head desk at the counter, whatever that is), you must be a major DB.

I got into it with a dealer who has a major attitude problem. I'm not a tourist. I have been playing poker at the Strike the last week as much as anyone. It's funny that you can play 60+ hrs a week, tip the servers, tip the managers $5 a meal a couple times every day and still be treated like dirt.

I was playing drunk LAG last night and stacked a guy. He started to talk to me and I talked back to him. Then this dealer who always has an attitude problem got into it with me and dealt me out. I threatened to talk to the head of the poker room. When I was at the front desk I was trying to leave her a message, and I was refused. One of the late night poker managers called security on me as I was trying to do this.

Well, over the past six weeks I have played 195 hours and counting at the Strike. Then is on numerous trips. The last week I've easily played 60+. I played at the Horseshoe for the first time the other night for less than 3 hours. The very next day everyone still remembered my name AND treated me with respect, even though I didn't deserve it. They will be getting my business now, and the Strike's poker room will no longer be.

On a brighter note - will be playing the Shoe's 10k guarantee at 4pm. Anyone else in?

I told you from the get go to play at the Horseshoe, my favorite place. But fwiw, being drunk and trying to reason with people never works, you already have the drunk image or w/e. The goldstrike is nittier on the cussing/things like this allow it and they don't, imo just don't talk back to players who you stack, if anything give them a "nice playing with you" needle if they begin talking s.

Anyone know what kind of game selection there is during the most off-peak hours? Like Monday morning at 6am, or whenever it happens to be. Can they at least keep 1 table running? Don't care if it's limit or NL or what stakes, just want to know I can play for 24hrs if I head down on a weekday.

Dunno about other places, but the latest I played at the Horseshoe was 3am, and the game was still running when I left. The earliest I have played was noon and there were 2 tables running of 1/3, 1 stud, and a high/low, pretty reasonable.

I don't have experience in odd hours because I live an hour away so its always a 1 day thing mostly.

Last Sunday night (into Monday), I left at 3AM as the 4/8 LHE game broke. There was still a 1/3 NL game going which I think runs all night.

Thanks. Its a 4 hour drive for me. I didn't want to get there only to have all the games break on me. There were 2 full tables of 1-3NL going when I left at 4am.

I played with him tonight and he didn't seem like that big of a DB.

Got in a sick pot with the lagtard. He pops it to ten preflop, I call in MP with 75s. Nit Asian woman repops for 30 total around button. We come along. Flop is 5h3s4s. Lagtard bets 90, frustrated nit pushes out of turn. I just call the 90, she ships for about a buy in, tard calls then I ship over the top. Nit has JJ and lagtard binked the straight with 6c2c. I brick, he ships a 1.7k or something pot.

Rough night? I had planned on staying longer but once lagtard got so deep I pussed out. I didn't mind snapping off his bluffs with marginal hands when he was only $300 deep but once he got like $1k behind I started getting worried about building big pots vs him because he would have enough leverage to get me off a lot of good hands.

Yeah it was rough. I still made a profit of $44 for the day because of an earlier session. Still felt pretty sick after I got stacked. I really can't handle those kinds of swings. In that spot I can't find a fold though. Nit's hand is face up as a high pocket pair which I crush, and the maniac's range is wide. Of course I want maniac to fold for HU, but when he calls there's already 6 hundo in the pot. Just a sick spot. I should have followed your lead and left when I got deep.

The thing I like about the Strike and Sams is that there is no limit on buy-in's so you can match big stacks and keep them from playing big stack poker and pushing you off hands.

My stack wasn't the problem, I think I had him covered ever since he sat down.

So assuming that the high pocket pair does not have a spade you are winning 57.1% of the time, Yea you are a head but you are hardly "crushing her", If these types of swings tilt you you should wait for better spots to play huge pots.

On the flop I can give him a range of:
55-33, any suited ace (except As7s As5s), 96s, 86s, 76s, 62s, 53s, 43s, 86o, 76o, 62o, 53o, 43o.
Against that range and JJ+ it's 43-37-20 in equity in my favor. As played, it was 46-51-3 with me a slight dog. So it was sick close. I figured it was +EV but obv huge variance.

So with the current issue with online play, I'm curious if anyone can answer my inquiries on the previous page as it looks like I'll be making trips to the HS and Sam's much much sooner then I thought.
