Thanks for any thoughts -
Just call the poker room and they will take care of you. 1-800-303-7463

Let today be the beginning of the end for the horse-betting, house-losing, dealer-screwing, poker thieving scoundrel named Jimmy Sommerfeld. Who is going to beat us to him? The IRS? Harrah's Management? Or some jilted dealer in a dark alley? That really is THE $1m question.

Captured on voice recording on three seperate occasions are dealers and/or floor staff acknowledging Sommerfeld's wrong doing. The list of wrong doing is long and illustrious. His reputation alone is 'spotty' and well known...but not until now has actual proof existed to put this conniving scumbag in jail.

Sommerfeld heads up a 'Business' known as PTC...Poker Tournament Consultants...which is really not a company at all. He works for Harrah's. But when he is assigned an event, he earmarks $5 of EVERY tournament buy in..which falls under the category of 'registration fee' to his 'company.' For some kind of idea of what that adds up to...do some math. Add up the last 8 circuit events, multiply the total players by $5 and you will have the number of dollars that went into Jimmy's pocket.

As if that isn't bad enough...and oh...IT SHOULD BE!!!! At the recently concluded WSOP-CE Main Event at Harrah's Tunica...before the Main Event STARTED...the players were asked, as a show of appreciation to the dealers of 'This fantastic event' to all chip in a voluntary tip to the dealers before they got the cards in the air. THere were 480 players. One table alone saw $220 collected. Doing the math?

1 minute and 45 seconds after the money was collected by 'floor staff' guess what happened in the building? All the power went out! Lights...gone! It took two minutes before the power came on. Coincidence? You decide.

When asked later, an anonymous dealer stated "If any of you think that we got a penny of that money...your out of your ****ing mind! Jimmy's house in Florida is about to be foreclosed on, for the second time in three years...we all know where that money is going...but none of us want to risk being blacklisted for life. And since Harrah's has given him pretty much ALL of the circuit events, there isn't much we can really do, other than get ourselves shut out if we say something about it."

So...the poker DEALERS are petrified. I think we all get that. But what about all of you players? Who are paying this guys sports bets? Who are bailing him out when his house is about to be taken away from him? Did you know that the $10 'Dealer Appreciation Toke' only sees the dealer getting $7 of it? Doesnt matter to you? So if there is 50 dealers...and 400 players...and $4000 is raised for the dealers...which is $80 per dealer...instead, Jimmy is pocketing $1200. For ONE tourney. Add that up over a 15-20 tournament schedule...Ya getting this? Hey Players...THAT IS YOUR MONEY! Going into ONE greedy man's pocket!

Now...do we think he is claiming all of this ill-gotten money? Can all the money that has been collected be verified? Who is doing his accounting? Would he be able to hide this from the IRS? Is he that clever? Or is he just recklessly stealing from the players, as well as the company he represents?

If you research Poker TOurnament Consultants...you will see that the administrators are Jimmy himself, Bill Bruce, who is his primary floor person, and Monica Higgins, who works as the dealer cordinator as well as other 'administrative' duties.

I think the time to end the cash grab of Jimmy Sommerfeld has arrived. While Dark Avenger thinks jail time is in order for this Madoffian Scammer...at the very least, Harrah's needs to open their eyes and see what is going on under the banner of their prized gem, the World Series of Poker.
Jimmy is contracted by the venue to run their tourney and his fee comes from the venue. Harrahs also receives their money from the venue. Therefore the entry fees is what the venue uses to pay both Harrahs and the tourney director, that is why some are run in-house the venue wants to as much as it can. I was at Tunica when the power went off it did take about 2 minutes for the main lighting to come back on but it was not dark long as emergency lights came on. Also of the $10 deaaler add on yes it is split between dealers and staff, the floor works hard to. IMO pissed off ex dealer or an 86'd player has posted this.

You say he's stealing from dealers and staff. And your "proof" is voice recordings of "dealers and/or floor staff acknowledging (the defendant's) wrong doing"?

I'm not sure you know the difference between the words "acknowledge" and "accuse".

EDIT TO ADD: This guy made the same post in NVG. When asked to present his proof, he said we shouldn't be so skeptical, that we should have an open mind and accept such accusations at face value.

I wasted 3 minutes of my life reading that crap and won't get it back, so I need to ask the question...in all that extraneous blithering, where is the "actual proof"?

Our society has advanced to the point where medication CAN be very helpful, I'd advise you look into it, otherwise grab a bottle of Vodka and crawl back under your rock--

Knucklehead...

He posted his manifesto in the Chicago Poker Classic thread in MTT Live forum as well. Don't understand that as Jimmy has nothing to do with that tournament, it is a Steve tournament..... Also, he did not post it in any of the circuit event threads on MTT Live that Jimmy is running or will be running......

They don't care what game you play in the poker room in order to get that rate. The general rule is 5 hours of play but I don't think they really enforce it.

Any update on the status of the 20/40 game? Is it still running? Does it run into the evenings on Friday and Saturday?

I play it sometimes but the structure sucks 20 minute levels and it skips too many levels. The $25,000 guarantee atleast has 30 minute levels. And some of their dealers can't deal 12 hands in 30 minutes.

Tex, I'm at the Strike now. I've never been to the Shoe. I will probably check it out tonight.

Strike is the only casino in Tunica I've been to. Last night I was pretty unimpressed with the dealers. The best is a black guy named [name removed]. Outstanding dealer and very professional. Some of the dealers here won't give you chip counts or even tell the table how many people are in the hand.

Last night, a reg/pro was at the table and obviously knew all the dealers. ALL of the dealers would whisper with him and have small talk. There were two huge tourist fish at the table late last night who this reg donated money to. Every time he stacked off light the dealer would lean to him and say, "Really?" or etc. I just thought it was very unprofessional. They would even ask him what he had. Thankfully the tourists didn't notice.

Had an 8 hour session last night. Gonna go back to the poker room and try my luck on a food comp.

I'm going to. Everyone in this thread gives it so much praise. I'm just too comfortable with the Strike I guess.

Told the woman at the poker room I had an 8 hr session last night and hadn't eaten in 24 hrs. She still asked for my player's card for the comp. Not sure how you guys are getting free meals without using your card.

The shoe will feed you with a couple of hours play and it doesn't come off your card. Tell the floor I (Bob Talbot) suggested you play there and to feed you.

What a hardship. Players across the country, who don't know what a meal comp is, sympathize with your plight.

Living in Tunica does spoil us with things like food comps, free drinks, cheap rooms you know what most casinos used to give. What did Benny Binion say give em cheap food, cheap rooms rates and free whiskey and they will stay and gamble. Another advantage is no property taxes.

I'll join the chorus in giving for the poker room at the Shoe and also saying I've never used my card for a comped buffet. (I do tip the floor $5 when I receive it, tho.)

The 20 game has gone on the weekends every time I've ever been; have only seen the 10/20 go once.

Back home and never checked out the Shoe since the games were so soft at the strike. Played over 40 hrs in about about a 55 hr period. The games were sick soft. Late last night I had a f'n great time with "professional." I got baked beforehand and I was cracking up nonstop at the table. Will return this Sunday night. Overall an enjoyable experience.

One of the floor managers obv doesn't like me. I did have a drunk blackout night, but it could be for other reasons who knows. After a 12 hr session I asked him if he needed to swipe my card, and he said as long as you have been here for 5 hrs you get the food comp. Another higher up he next morning told me I should always get swiped after playing. If service continues to be spotty the next few weeks I'll just start to play somewhere else. Dealers last night were all good for the most part. And friendly.

Dunno about Harrahs but from its rep I would imagine there will be action. But the shoe always has action, I even went on Wednesdays at 2pm and there was action =), always a good game and very good comps, my personal favorite.
