Allow me to tell you a story...
It all started when I won the Bad Beat Jackpot @ the TAJ last night at 11:59pm on a $1/$2 NLHE table. My Pocket Aces were bested by Quad Queens on a 4QQ J A board. I moved all-in on the turn and was upset when he insta-called and showed QQ. Before I could even process that I was drawing dead to win the pot but had a 4% chance to win $118,000...BOOM there it was...the freaking ACE of Clubs.
If you were there to witness this, you may remember somebody jumping up and down behind me like HE had just won the bad beat jackpot. This was my friend, Jeff (I only know him from the TAJ, but still a friend) who had just arrived and we traded 10% of our bad beat action with one another. He made it by less than 30 minutes...Lucky Him.
After that Ace of Clubs fell on the river, my world came to a standstill. From a far, It would have been impossible to tell if I had just witnessed a murder or had won over $100k...I was emotionless. I couldn't get excited because I knew that there was a chance that something during the hand would have disqualified it.
The floor person finally comes over to confirm and says..."The supervisor is still reviewing something on the tape. JUST KIDDING." I wanted to punch that man in his face, not a funny joke at all.
Off to the cashier to get paid...$100,000 Check, $11,800 to Jeff (that was not fun to give him but a deal is a deal. And Karma is a bitch). $1,000 to the Dealer. $2,000 to a player who had gotten up from the table and did not receive anything. Without him missing the hand, it never would have happened, so I didn't mind parting with 2K. 2.2K left...of to the Borgata. The Taj refused to give me a room which is dumb on their part but w/e.
In the Bathroom at the Borgata. I'm pissing in a stall and can hear a conversation next me that went something like this. "Dude I just lost $100 playing BJ...But i'm gonna win that back." So I peeled off a Hundred and slid it under the wall to him. I walked out without witnessing his reaction..tho I'll assume it was priceless.
Some bottles of Dom at the B-Bar. $100 tip for the waitress who I think licked my cheek in appreciation...That was weird. I never knew the B-bar was employing hookers, but at least 8 hookers came up to me.
Hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed recounting the MOST WONDERFUL NIGHT OF MY LIFE
I would like to extend an apology to the Taj Majal floor man who I jokingly claimed I wanted to punch in the face. I would also like to apology to his Boss, who I do not know personally , but have always respected from a far.
I'm off to Vegas tomorrow morning for a few days, then to Cali to visit my friend.
Ps...Those Beautiful TV's plastered around the poker room sure would look better if they were in High-Def. I'm pretty sure LG designed those TV's with HD viewing in mind.
