Yup, snack bar is 1:1, and actually very good.

I am pretty sure it is 1:1

FWIW, snackbar is free if you can get a 40 or bigger game going. It's also surprisingly decent.

Ok so essentially, it's not free. I don't know how many people on this board play that game. Plus that game almost never runs there.

Chicken Fingers and fries there is a good bargain, you get a ton of food
06-15-2009 , 01:32 PM
You get a good bargain at the snack bar, though it seems every 2 or 3 months, they raise their prices another .50 on everything. But it was a bargain to begin with, it's still pretty good. Their pies and fruit salads are also good. The only thing not worth getting are drinks there. It's just a little dixie cup of soda that costs like $2 or whatever. Just get your drink from the waitress.

True dat. Only bad thing is they come out so hot that they melt the styrofoam containers so you end up eating some weird chemicals.

Hey Guys

Whats the consensus for best food options at the Taj. Looking for convenience in proximity to the poker room, and relatively quick as well.

Also is the buy in for 2/5 1K? How many 2/5 games would be running on a Friday/Saturday

Also really do not want to be stabbed, so stay away from the back bathroom?

Cheap quick near poker room: Poker room snack bar upstairs or via delivery (though that's gross). Try the special if it's a rice dish, usually like $7 or 8 and filling. If you don't like the sound of the special or soup, try their grilled chicken sandwich or NY steak sandwich. Use your comps!

Not as quick and not as cheap: Noodle bar (The Rim). Bowl of soup runs $12-16, but it's refreshing and good. If there's no wait to get in, you're in and out in 15-20 minutes.

I guess a quick follow up,

I am a regular at the Borg, 2/5 with shots at 5/10 (man was crushing for 3 months, and then downswonged pretty hard in two weeks... doomswitch 40% of the roll)

I guess what is the 2/5 action at the Taj on weekends, is the larger buy in (I think 1k?) affect the table, are there more donks and laggy players? Enough tables to have some sort of table selection?

I guess the question is it worth it logging hours at the Taj? I am extremely comfortable with the Borg, love the action, players, dealers, and am just comfortable in the room.

Only played one short session at the Taj previously and it just didnt seem to compare.

Do you think Taj will be more profitable in general?

Thanks in advance guys

I think you should log the hours at the borgata... its better all around and the action is always sick at either casino, but pound for pound the borgata wins... JMO

when the snack bar closes early weekdays:

SBARRO AT THE TAJ MAHAL

go up escalators at entrance to poker room, walk 10 yards...

Sbarro is a rip with it being 2-1 comps now. Might as well just order out.

at 4$ a slice or whatever it is, its cheaper and alot better to just get a pizza or two delivered at night. Usually easy to split it with a few people at the table.

does the snack bar at taj have a seating area? or just order and sit at your table?

The fried shrimp basket from the snack bar is really good. Plus its free and that always rocks.

Im sure this has been posted about but i dont wanna dig through 13 pages of trash to find it....

I consider myself to be a very good PLO player but have been playing smallish stakes(200max and smaller) online due to my bankroll and cashouts (trying to buy a new boat). I have a co-worker who is willing to provide me with a 5k bankroll to play anything I want live. My question is how often can I find a PLO game at the Taj? will it only be 1/2, ever 5/5 or 2/5?

Should I just stick to 2/5 NLHE or 10/20-20/40 LHE?
Fwiw, my skills are PLO>LH=NLHE. I am also a good MTT player, have cashed in over 50% of my live MTTs.

I would probably only be going there during the weekend, Friday-Sunday since I work full time. Any help is appreciated, thanks all in advance.

Free, as in, you use your comp dollars.

PLO only goes sporadically at the Taj. It goes (1/2 or 2/5) most fri and sat at the Borg tho.
