yeah, it broke up after about two hours tho bcz I think the game was a little too big for some of the players...I should be there by about noon and will start an interest list for 2/4 and 3/6 if they're not already on the board...2/4 would probably run a lot longer and the limit could always be increased if the players agree...the staff was very accommodating to whatever we wanted to do...seemed like most of the room preferred HE tho prob bcz of the $100 high hand every half hour promo and bad beat...

It was a good day yesterday, three games short, but raking, The O8 doesn't qual for the bad beat and the floor was at your service...Har Har HAR. Maybe this spot would be a good bowling ally.

All disputes will be reviewed and decided by the Poker
Shift Manager OR former seating controler

Any word on if it's possible and what it will take to get a comped room based on poker play?
05-26-2016 , 11:28 AM
The fact that they aren't on Bravo is laughable! How could a poker room think they could be successful without Bravo?

Clocking in at the main desk reminds me of 1995.

This thread has thoroughly depressed me!

Perhaps you should get there quick and grab your winner socks and rain coat before it closes again...

Any game going with the strike?
07-07-2016 , 09:37 PM
The strike doesn't effect gaming employees.

True, but if the strike is keeping enough players away, having the dealers at work doesn't make the games go.

It used to be the room in AC, as seen in "Rounders". In 2003, on Friday and Saturday nights, they had like 20 tables of 20-40 and above fixed limit holdem, stud, and mixed games, usually several of them 50-100 and above, and often a table or two of 5-10 or above, sometimes way above, PLO or PLO8.

Did they close because of some scandal like Mohegan Sun? It is like the sleaziest casino in AC.

Does the 6/12 OE run regularly? It is probably a good place to play stud.

I remember those days. I would be in awe at the amount of red chips stacked at a 20/40 limit games.
Everything went downhill after borgata opened, and Taj refused to stay competitive by not doing anything different. Also, security was a big issue at Taj. Several people have been killed in the garage and many were robbed in the back bathroom by the convention center. Taj didn't increase security because that would cut into their bottom line. Instead, they just closed the bathroom.
Now days they are lucky if 3 tables are running on weekdays.

Can anyone even give a current assessment of the room? It's not on Bravo (still unbelievable to me) so there's no idea of how many games are ever running. The website is still completely useless as the live game report link is clearly dead from the old room and the tournament links are blank as well. At least the bad beat amount is listed, currently at around only $29k. Is that even correct? Qualifying hand? Has it ever been hit since they reopened?

Anyone?

Wow. I thought it was bad. Didn't know it was this bad.

They should have just let the Taj poker room die a peaceful death. But no, they had to try to zombify it.

There was someone robbed and killed in the parking garage. Then someone got killed in a fight over a seat in a 1-2NL game. Then a losing table game player killed a floorman.

They also became the first legal casino to have a strip club in the casino.

I was playing 15-30-45 OE around 2009 there, and it was in the special high limit area with like 3 tables. I was astounded, as in the old days, the games in that area were like 100-200+ mixed or 10-25 PLO8 or something like that.

It was said that we welcomed a comeback for the Taj Poker Room, that more competition for AC poker players can only be good. But it's like they didn't even try. Hope some people like the TVs they gave away on day 1 and got some cake.

Welp, that was quick. All the recent renovations they were posting on their fb page -- a waste.

Did those things really happen? A guy killed over a seat at 1-2 game?

My eyes bulged out at this.

I'm not sure what table it was at, but there definitely was a case of two players arguing about a seat, who then "took it outside", where one was stabbed. Happened maybe 6 years ago or so.

One of the tables along the window side, April 2008.

Cool political conspiracy theories, guys! But this isn't the place for them. Try the politics forum.

EDIT to add: it also would be nice if people would stop posting news links that already have been posted in this thread.
