Anyone here play in the tournament on Tuesday night at 7:15pm!! My first time playing in this casino!! Real good time!!!! Structure was amazing!! Even with the antes there is alot of play early, but the ante jump from 100 to 500 was rough, but overall, there is alot of play.

I am heading up to AC and staying at the Trop Mon-Wed so I will have a full report on the state of the Trop when I get back.

For some reason the Tropicana offfered me a free room Sun-Thur one night a week from now through February. Anyone else get an offer like that?

After getting run over at Borgata 3/6 LHE by elderly fishing donks Friday afternoon, I decided to try and change my luck at another casino. Not wanting to get stabbed, I passed on Trump Taj and called Tropicana and checked on the status of a 3/6 game. Person that answered the phone said they had a wait-list 8 deep. So I headed over, figuring by the time I got there, the game would already be started or close to starting. Get there, add my name to the list (9th name on list) and the brush asks if I want to play 2/4 during the wait. I pass, and wait for about 10 minutes in the room for the game to be called. I figured with 9 names, the game would be an easy go. I walk around the casino for another 20 minutes, then check back into the poker room to see the list still 9-deep, no game started. Went back out on the casino floor for another 25 minutes, check back in. No change. I walked out. Room was busy, but there were dealers available.

Tropicana sucks. I laughed when they thought they could get a 10/20 LHE game going as part of their "featured game promotion" back in November (in which the entire promotion failed in the first week based uopn on website), but if they can not even get a game with a full list going within 45 minutes with a full list, then they deserve to fail.

My wife actually really likes the Trop. We had a very good time when we went last time. However, I have played the poker room. I was told I could get the poker rate if we booked and I played the right number of hours. I played well beyond the right number of hours and they would not give me the rate.

I ended up paying $149 for a mid week day room (sunday night). WTF. We dropped a ton of dough in the restaurants, bars, and going to see the crappy Beatles show. They will never have my business again. We were completely mishandled.

I like(d) playing at Tropicana as well, but when you have a full list for a 3/6 LHE for at least 45 minutes, and available dealers, and do not start the game, then you have a problem. I am beginning to see why this room has taken a nose dive the past couple of years, going from being the third best room in town to just another room with only 1/2 and 2/4.

I give another casino the chance to earn my poker business and it does not want it, that is fine with me. But at the same time, do not cry that your revenues are down month after month or you can no longer get the big games (i.e. 5/10 NL, pink chip) going, because I can see why your customer base is dwindling.

As far as being third best room in town. Currently, no. Potential, yes. Harrah's has clearly become the third best. I agree exactly with *******s rankings.

I've played at the Tropicana a lot recently and can't complain about the action...Every Fri/Sat I have been their recently they spread 1/2 - 5/10NL.

I mean the room isn't the prettiest, but it could always be worse.

Yeah it could look like the Taj.

And theres no way Showboat is better than ceasars. ceasars poker room is never completely empty like showboat.

Cash Games: Caesars tends to have at a 2/5 NL running at all times, and a few more tables then Showboat.

Tournaments: Showboat without a doubt. Better buy-ins, much better structure. You are better off buying lottery tickets if you want to play a Caesars tournament. Horrible structures.

Customer Service: Showboat wins. I have found the customer service at Ceasars to be horrible. You are lucky if you can even get one of their floor people or managers to fart in your direction. It is similar to the customer service at the Bellagio if you play the lower limits. Only difference is, Bellagio has many higher games, and really could give a crap if a 1/2 NL or 4/8 LHE player comes back. All Caesars has is 1/2 NL, 2/5 NL, and 2/4 LHE. With 8 other rooms in town offering those limits, you really need to have good customer service to retain your customer base, or else they are going to play where they are respected.

I find it funny when people use this as a reason to like or dislike a poker room. Like they are going to a restaurant and expect the staff to bend over backwards and smile all day. My interaction with floor staff is minimal at best. Doesnt matter what they are like to me as long as they can make competent rulings and keep order in the room. I dont need them to kiss my tail. Im just there to play cards.

I am not asking for a cake and a parade. My interaction with the floor is minimal as well, but when I get the "you are wasting my time" attitude when doing something simple as getting clocked in and out, then it is a customer service fail. I am not even expecting a handshake and a "thanks for playing" response. I am more then happy with a neutral reaction. Just take my card, swipe it, and hand it back. But when I approach with my card, say "can you clock me out", and then the floor sighs, rolls his eyes, grabs the card out of my hand and almost throws it back at me, then like I said, we have a failure of customer service.

I thin the Trop had big problems in its room yesterday (2-14). I played the 11:15 $62 tourney and they jammed 11 players to a table. the second dealer to come to our table was bitching and moaning about how they 'are never prepared for weekends like this' and 'I told them it would be busy' and 'they don't know what the hell they're doing' (in reference to management). The NEXT dealer to come in echoed these thoughts and even got into an argument with the floor (this is during the tourney mind you) because one of the floor guys was telling this particular dealer (kind of asking/telling) that he had to work the floor and the dealer was pissed off saying something about 'his shifts were all cut' and when i asked what was going on he said if he worked the floor it somehow negated his unemployment and he barely had any shifts and management was horrible etc. etc.

I asked if he was new and he said "No, this is what I get after 7 1/2 years".

trop was my poker home between the years of 2000-2006e and still is when i go with my family especially during the air show. I will not play poker there anymore. It is terrible and the highest limit is 1-2 NL. As for the place being dirty, you are completely off. The place is clean and the quarter is beautiful and the restaurants are excellent. Besides the poker room the rest of the casino is very nice. It is not the Brogata(my poker home) but for overall quality it is number 2 for my money. The taj is awful(not the poker room) the atmosphere and can it be any more sle3azy and caesars just has this old feeling to it. SHowboat is not bad but when you add in the quarter you have to put the trop above them all on the strip. I am going to soe other casino for a night tomorrow. It was free and includes a suite, dinner, breakfast and 50.00 to gamble with which my wife loves to lose.

The trop itself deserves better poker room managers. They need to get decisive on what games they will spread and knock down some fake walls to be less cramped.
