Looks like I will be heading to the Trop next week. Anybody know if that 7:15pm tourney goes off? If so, approximately how many runners does it get? The Trop website shows its a $50+12 buy in.

THanks in advance.

Is this room still alive? I'm coming to AC on December 29 and staying one night here before borgota. Will there be a 1/2 game on a Sunday morning?

this room doesn't have a huge twoplustwo following and isn't on bravo, but it's got decent action on weekends and holidays. there is always a 1-2 game going anytime. you'll be fine. good luck.

Quick lil TR from the other night, went to Trop just for a bite to eat. Planned on eating around 8. Sat at the 2-4-6 limit game at 6pm with my 100 bucks. Ran like the sun for the next 8 hours and cashed out at $500+ lol. So instead of having a nice dinner at pf changs, I settled for a turkey sub from downstairs. Also earned the copper card. Free parking yay!

Played yesterday for 4 hours, just trying to get a room, but they said nothing complimentary is ever given.
They do strange thing with collecting players cards every one hour to swipe. Si if you start 5 minutes before I guess you get full hour?

Nice room, but management sucks.

Nice room, but management sucks.

Most of the floor are actually pretty decent. The card system is not a bravo system, but you can take 1 hour breaks and still get your card swiped.

They don't give comp rooms which really sucks. Playing 4 hours gets you the poker rate. Instead of pAying 149.99 during the week now you would pay 79.99 and on Friday night you pay 149.99 instead of 229.99. So yes, lack of comps sucks and makes it impossible to be loyal to them.

what's the best way to get the poker rate on a friday? just go and play and then ask? if i go down there mid day on a friday and play during the day you think that i'll be able to get a poker rate? i can't imagine they are selling out their rooms.

Do they ever get a 2/5 game going on weeknights, or only Fri/Sat?

Hello everyone!
I'm the new Social Media and Community Manager at the Trop.
I'm an avid poker player, so I've decided to create an account on 2+2 to represent the company. I'm new to the Trop, but hopefully I can answer some of the questions you guys have!

@Cuserounder, Statistically, it's a hit or miss for 2/5 on weeknights. Since we're not on Bravo, its tough to know for sure. Your best bet is to call the Poker Room and ask what tables are open; Poker Room # 609-340-5353

Any plans for getting the Trop on Bravo? I'd imagine it would create more interest for the room.

@IWishIWas I'll ask around about Bravo. I know we're planning some hotel renovations, but haven't heard anything about the poker room.

This could definitely get me in there. The days I don't want to play at the Borgata I look on Bravo to see what's going on and I check it all the time to see who has games running. Especially being kind of isolated down at one end of the boardwalk, it's inconvenient to not be able to check in the app.

I really doubt Trop will get Bravo. They just "upgraded" to flat screen TVs and a new rug. They then sent out an email blast telling players to come down and check out the "new" room.

I love the Trop because of the type of player that goes there (easy games) and because of their location, but the place is really stingy with money when it comes to poker. No free rooms no matter how long you play and they fight you when you ask them to turn on the AC on Friday and Saturday nights. Super warm in the poker room but when you go outside to take a piss you can feel the AC in the slot area and even in the hallway leading to the bathrooms by the elevators.

Hopefully the Trop rep on here can get the AC turned on for this weekend.

having a rep is great. and this is a sign of effort, so i have no reason to bash the room with doubts. before today we would have said "i doubt the trop will get a proactive room rep".

bravo would be great.

for the sake of voicing opinions, my biggest annoyance is the way they track time. if you're in bathroom you don't get credit for an hour. if you sit at the wrong time you lose most of an hour, and sometimes (particularly late at night) they just don't come around. would be much better to check in and check out, even if it's done at the desk.

If you leave your card at the table when you are away, they will take your card and credit you for an hour even if you are not playing when they collect cards. If they didn't take your card, all you have to do is take your card up to the desk and they will credit you.

Trop used to be a great hotel once the place was bought they got really cheap with comps. I haven't been their since, maybe if they start comping poker players it may be a different story.

I am planning on being in the area with family, and am looking at the various donkaments for Sunday night after dinner.

A few questions about the 7:15pm tournament (at least on Sundays) for our new Poker Rep (or anyone else with the 411).

1. Does the 7:15pm always run? If so, how many runners usually.

2. Do blinds increase every 15 min or 20 min?

3. What is blind structure for first 8 levels?

Thanks!

1. He isn't a poker room rep

2. With Bravo, they mark you away every time you go to the bathroom or make a phone call. Yes, if you start playing at 7:30, you are playing for 30 minutes "for free", but you can also leave at 8:01 after they swipe your card and you get the entire hour. I actually like the way they track time at the trop. The only bad thing is sometimes they don't come around if they get busy on the weekends. Played 8 hours on Saturday and only got swiped 7 times.

Don't need Bravo - just need a comped room and better treatment of poker players overall. We are gamblers too and we eat at your restaurants, dance in your clubs, buy your alcohol, etc. Make us loyal by throwing us a bone (and turn on the AC)

Thinking about coming to the room on 8/1.

How many players do you expect for the 7:15?

How many 2-5 tables on a Friday night? What is the max buy in at 2-5?

Thanks in advance.
