Anytime. How did your weekend go? Did you end up shelling out the extra couple bucks for a room?

I wish they would bring back the pink chip game $7.5/$15 LHE. And I wouldn't mind if they brought back $4/$8 LHE too. But it will never happen.

Hopefully when I go there next weekend it will still be up there and I can play there a little. Possibly some $2/$5.

The current BBJ as of today is still at $539,003.I copied that right off the Tropicana website. That's why it's so large and brown.

I was just on pokerpages and saw that the trop is having the "five figure score" mixed game events from oct 19 to 24 with a 230 razz game on friday and 200+30 horse on sat... Can anyone confirm that this is actually going to happen? and if so, will i be one of only 3 people registered for the razz tournament? They can't be serious about a five figure score, but I'd be happy if the tournament was taking place at all...

The website for the Trop doesn't say how it is split. But it is probably 50/25/25% (looser/winner/table) or somewhere close to that. I think Caesar's properties does something like 40/40/20% (looser/winner/joint room's players), but not entirely sure.

Since when did top have 5 figure guaranteed prize pol tournaments? I know that place is packed because of the BBJ but seriously?

Pokerpages has the wrong location. Just googled the event and everywhere else lists the Trop Las Vegas for the venue.

I have three of the "One Million Dollar Blackjack" entry cards that I earned during my short visit to the Tropicana poker room the other day. I figured I would see if any of the Tropicana players wanted them free of charge before I throw them in the trash. Just reply or shoot me a PM. I will probably throw them away in a week if no interest.

I'll be at the Trop on Monday. Can you leave them in the poker room for me? Sorry I can't PM you since I haven't posted enough yet.

Went with the wife to the Trop today (she shops and we play slots when she wants to gamble and I want to smoke). Plan was for dinner at the Palm (Prime Bites FTW).

Was a loooong time since I was there last. At least 2 poker card revisions ago. Sat at 1/2 for a few hours, won a bit (always makes things better).

Noticed a few things:
1. Apparently that got new chairs, that swivel, and can move up and down. A lot of regs seemed pleased.
2. There were a lot of regs. I sat a a newly opened table. Mostly nits, at least a few reg nits.
3. There was a lot of table changing. Usually thought proper channels. But a shocking number of regs at the table requested table changes. Even after smelly drunk guy got busted and left.
4. The table did loosen up, but after a one big pot, a few losers got up and left, and we were 4 handed (with at least 6 stacks still on the table). The dealer stopped dealing, as nobody wanted to play short. I racked up to go have a cigar before dinner. Unsure if they broke or it filled.

Overall, a good experience. We'll go back again for sure. I'm not sure it's my top choice for poker rooms, but it's a nice enough change, and it there is a reason to go to the trop (restaurant or room offer), I'll play again.

I'm surprised Trop is so "off the map" that this thread is buried back in page 4 of Poker Venues.

Been trying to make a concerted effort to play live since online is no long available, having made 3 trips to Sands, Bethlehem, this year which is much closer to me. Having 2 days off and my buddy down at a nursing convention in AC made this opportune for a trip down.

Made the trip down on Friday evening with my buddy and his girl.
They comped us for the room after he played 8+ hours the night before for $65, which was $85 after the ridic tax and BS fee, but not bad.

Action seemed pretty fishy, I sat for 8+ hour session on Friday night, and another 4 on Saturday afternoon and between the 2 sessions there was probably not more than 2-3 solid players.

The room is pretty nice IMO, no real complaints, besides 1 dealer who looked like he was about to pass out. Clean, personally I like the old-fashioned layout. Besides the poker room, I also think the casino itself is one of the nicer ones i've stepped foot in on the boardwalk.

I like the atmosphere more than Taj, but I have never stepped foot in Borgata, I will have to check that out next trip.

The Tropicana is considerably more fishy than other poker rooms in Atlantic City I have noticed. Maybe that's because everyone now avoids it like the plague as far as what I have heard in this thread.

Before the Borg opened, the Trop was "the room"... especially, if you hated the Taj (which many did, even back then).

Now, it's like an old silent movie star... who's glory has long since faded. Sad. The original Pink Chip Game (started at the Trop) was the best game in AC for many years.

A lot of poker rooms have a live game report on their site. But I did not see one on the Trop site. I could be over looking it though.

Anyone have a link to it? Or do they not have one? Thanks!
