Can you get a poker room rate in the weekend now? And if so, how much?

what's the poker rate going for? how much do you have to play and at what stakes? I usually play $10/20 limit but I know they don't have that there. I'll play the pink chip game though...

also what's the bbj requirements?

July/August was more but for September Friday is 99, not sure about Saturday but I think 139, definitely more than Harrah's.

I never play at the Trop but it's not a bad room. Its just as nice as harrahs or any other room comparable in size. Me personally I only play at the Borgata because it's light years ahead of any other room. I will say that when It comes to night life and restaurants I love the Trop and find myself there a few times a month.

I confess to liking the Trop, though it's been quite a while...

1. Am I right to assume that even midweek there will be 1 stubborn 1/2nl going all night into am?

2. Am I right to assume that it may be optimistic to think i'd find a 2/5 going midweek?

3. ... and two or more 2/5NL games on weekend days + nights?

thanks

I believe the OP was referring to the "NL room." The Trop poker room has some different "rooms" within it. Years ago one of the rooms was the higher limit room, and it then changed into the NL room. Semi-recently it was turned into a slot area, with all of the NL games being moved in the rest of the room.

So, as far as I know, the Trop still has NL games (plenty of 1-2, some 2-5).

What's the game lineup other than 1/2 & 2/5 NL ?
It used to be 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, 6/12, & occasional pink chip.

Do they still have 1-5 & 5/10 stud ?

They have 3/6 Limit Stud for some reason but most the time the game has a hard time getting going. They still have 3/6 & 2/4 LHE and I have heard that occasionally they have 4/8 but 6/12 no way. I don't think the pink chip game has run there in quite some time.

Are their ways to revitalize this place or is it a lost cause?

I can remember seeing about $20k+ on the table on multiple occasions there. Funny thing is I don't see any of the regs from that game around town much anymore.

I played there for the first time a month or so ago. It was a bus trip and I played a few hours mid day mid week. I just played some 2/4 LHE and 1/2 NL and there were plenty of tables running, especially for mid day mid week. (BBJ was over $160K which I'm sure brought out more players.)

I'm wondering what is so objectionable about the room. It was clean and orderly and I didn't have any issues with any dealers or floors although I really didn't see any real controversies arise while I was there.

I would assume the major drawback would be the lack of games being spread. When I was there only 2/4, 1/2 and (I think) 2/5. People have obviously been spoiled by the Borgata in this regard.

I think they generally have 1-2 NL and some 2-5 NL. When I was there a few weeks ago on a Saturday, they also spread 5-10 NL.

As for limit, you're not going to find anything higher than pink chip (7.50/15), but that only runs occasionally. I played 5/10 LHE, which was the highest fixed limit game going at the time.

The game was ridiculiously juicy, btw.

one of my easiest games I play in once a week is in someones dirty garage with spider webs and the smell of motor oil but I am there to make the money, and the way those people play I would even sit on the floor if I had to but the people who are saying the trops a dump are over exagerating a little imo.For a 1/2 or 2/5 player, there are often good games there. No it's not the borgata but it's still very playable.

I've been there a few times mid-week in the last few months, and the room's had plenty of good 1-2 games. There's nothing very objectionable about the room, and the action is often worth the trip.

Wow, 5/10 LHE was actually running at the Trop. I am mostly a LHE player, but the last several times I was at the Trop, there was a list for 5/10, but the game could never get off the ground.

I haven't played there in years. I forgot about Charlie. One time I asked if they had a 10/20 limit game going and he said no. I said OK and played the pink game. Two mins. later he's on the mic asking if anyone wants to start up a 10/20 game. He must have said this 10 times in 5 mins. I had to go up and tell him it was ok, lol.

What's going on at the Trop these days? I used to like their tourneys when they had the 10K guranteed. But the structure of their tournies just sucks, however there are a lot of donkies in them.

Did they speed it up? It used to be pretty slow.
