Anybody play at the Treasurey Casino in Brisbane?

They just brought in smaller games and made the buy in levels proper. I think I'll be headed there tomorrow night to grind some $1/$2. Probably going to get into the habit of it now as well.
Thought I'd see if any 2+2 members play/live here.
Hopefully the games are juicy when I get there (Y)

I was there about a month ago before they changed the structure and the games were indeed juicy, much more so than I remember them being last year.

Jupiter's is miles ahead with their new room if you can make the trip.

Jupiters>>>>>>>>>>>>>Treasurey. AINEC.

The new poker room at jupiters is very very nice. However might be a bit out of the way if u live near Treas. Still they games are soft, V soft.

I play at the Treasury when I get a chance to around Uni/work. I know enough of the daytime regulars to make it worth a trip even just for 1-2 hours of general banter. Damien at the registration desk and a bunch of the floor staff are good for a chat too.

I'd say I average about 1 or 2 sessions a week. I only started up again last week after I found out they were spreading 1/2 and FINALLY fixed up buyins!

1/2 not worth it...2.5/5 games were OK but the max you could buy-in for was 50BB's...sometimes you can get on a 500 table but they're pretty rare.

Most of the players there are nits...if you're prepared to put in the hours there you can make some easy coin.

They've fixed the buyins so the 2.5/5 game is 40-100bb buyin as standard, they no longer spread 20-50bb buyin. This along with 1/2 daily is why I've started playing here again.

Agreed about most of the old regs being nits. One or two of them are hilariously so. They all turn up for a 10am start on weekdays - if you can get yourself out of bed early enough to get on the opening tables, you should be 200-500 up by 1/2pm.

I don't think the old nits like me much tbh. I show a bit of needless aggression or show a bluff here or there to stir them up and they talk **** about me loud enough for me to hear. It's a hate/hate relationship. Once I brought in a pokerstars wsop jacket, ftp beanie, wore sunnies and read T&P at the table just to piss them off and got ZERO comments.

I'm hoping that tomorrows public holiday brings some fresh faces to the room.

Alot of the older guys nits?? i can think of 2. Stan, and this other guy that bought on for min, and keep it at $100.. even after he doubled up..

umm, you annoy me already mandroid because of what you wore. I bet you wear that ***** most times you go too..

but yeah, can't wait to hit those tables again. 1/2 very loose and most of the time enjoyable to go to. That is if you can handle the FT shirt wearing douchebags... yes, we all have FTP's, but we don't use them in such a douchey manner..

Stan is wonderful. Def a very tight player but not one of the nits I was thinking of.

I apologise for managing to annoy you without ever having met you. Quite a feat. Not to worry, your assumption about my standard dress was incorrect. You're right about me being a douchebag tho, just not a douchebag who wears free poker apparel to the casino. I reread what I posted before and realised when I cut out all the tl;dr stuff the post no longer makes any sense.

I never knew so many of us Treasury semi-regs were 2p2rs. Might be worthy of a bi-yearly pissup of some description.

Used to go down there a fair bit, but then I moved down to the Coast just as the new poker room at Jupiters was opening.

As others have said, Jupiters >>>>>>>> Treasury.

So is the 1/2 running all the time now? But yes, every time I've gone the games have been pretty juicy.

Yep.

They brought it back because a lot of people were making the drive down to Jupiters instead of going to the Treasury (especially those that live South side of Brisbane).

Plus, now that Jupiters is stand-alone and no-longer a part of Conrad's, they need to offer it to be competitive.

I have played a few times but the buyin and table limit structures were ****e before. I will probably play more now with 1/2. I played 2 weekends ago but it was after drinking all afternoon and night for a bucks and it didn't play out in my favour.

Hey,
I've been going a fair bit recently. I'm a uni student, so I play a bit underrolled for these games haha. The lowest games I've seen are 2/3?

The games are definitely fun and social,
If you can just smile and nod at people at the table saying:
"I KNEW he had a straight, I KNEW IT"
"I hate pocket Aces, I always lose with them"
"When you have kings you have to raise to 25 dollars, you don't want people coming in with **** like Jack- five" (serious)

If you can play an ABC game, understand why you bet, pot odds, implied odds etc. I reckon these games are very easy. Especially on a Friday or Saturday night, when drunks, new players, come to play. Get position on a mark or two that have had a lucky double up and its like money falling from the sky (for a uni student at least).

On the regs:
A lot of the regs are all friendly and fun.
They are definitely alot better than the fish. However, some of them still have some HUGE leaks.A couple of regs were sitting at my 2/3 table until the bigger 2/5 table opened up (HUGE LEAKS), so it seems the big 2/5 game probably isn't that tough either (except I don't have the balls to play).

on Jupiters:
I lived on the Gold Coast since I was ten, moved to Brisbane to study. Only been to Jupiters once, the poker room is SO NICE. The game is also ridiculously soft. But its got a smaller player pool and is not open as often.

Definitely gonna go for some huge sessions after exams finish

Any advice for someone wanting to play at Treasury, after only playing pub games and .5/.10 NL online?

Don't expect your bets to push people off weak hands like they do online. Play is much, much, much looser. Probably similar to pub games.

jupiters room is indeed nicer but the people there are way more douchey. Played there for 2 years + and recently moved to brisbane and its a way better atmosphere.
