One thing I do want to mention is the part about advertising in magazines, etc... I tried for 4 years to get magazine ads, and was turned down over and over. The owner doesn't believe in print ad, and getting any money from the casino for any kind of advertising is nearly impossible.

Anyways, those that I've been in touch with, I wish you the best.

He's not the manager anymore.

How does this poker room make any money if so many local grinders do this promotion?

Maybe they don't. But the higher jackpot drops helps them either way.

Poker rooms don't care who plays the games, as long as they get played. How grinders make $ is the better Q, but it seems to me they are either slightly improving(if they aren't very good/are nitty) or slightly worsening(good/LAG player) their win rate, with probably not much beyond that.

played in this game for 4 days and it is a reg fest no doubt. when a tourist shows they break very quickly. I do think the game is beatable, but not a typical room with an abundance of tourist/fish playing

Did he indicate that it will *only* continue throughout the rest of the year, or was he saying that it will last at least until the end of the year? Did he specify?

Yeah, it's an important distinction

real simple the fish loose there buy in quicker than anywhere I have seen. The regs stay all day and the tourist last aprox 30 minutes. its tough for tourist to get in the game at times as well because no regs leave and they never have enough during the week to start a 2nd table. They wait for a while then sadly leave. It is a bit frustrating they can't get in the game always. Some of the regs are not the greatest, but they are not tourist/fish either.

I was there two different trips during the Series this year, and never saw a second table. If they can't get one going during the Series, there's pretty much no hope.

All of the regs actually suck, but they're still not as bad as fish/tourists. The extra $2 rake every hand doesn't help.

How many NL tables are running during weekends? Staying at the TI next weekend, looking to put in most of my hours there, unless there's a good reason to check out other 1/3 games

It's the same one table of guys everyday, so you'll def get to know a few of the local smalltimers well...

Im arriving at TI little more then a week from now. I've always had the TI regulars problem before. I was planning on going to StripBurger and crossing over the street over to the Wynn as I had never played in their room before. Good choice?

Yeah it is the same one table with mostly regs grinding out the pay to play bonus and yea at nights/weekends you get the occassional 2nd table. Played there a lot when i was in vegas for a month during the series this year. The regs are not the best imo. They play everyday but are not super nits nor super loose either. This was actually one of my most profitable casinos w/o the bonus. They were very easy to read and easy to exploit. Me personally, I just don't like looking at the same faces & playing with the same people everyday when you have so many choices like vegas has. Would be different in a local casino where you have no choice. It makes more sense to go to the casinos that have weekly freerolls to me. Put in 10-15 hrs at each and you're bound to cash a couple. Most pay out like 20-25% of the field. There's your treasure island bonus money without grinding one table with the same 4-6 guys.

For mine, Wynn is the best room in Vegas

It's not ALWAYS the same table. Sometimes they play on a different table.

Since the promotion started, I've never seen more than 1 NL and zero LHE tables going - weekends, weekdays, during the WSOP, any time.

In January and February I did the 60 hours 3 times. Early in January at times there were 4 or 5 games going. By late February, it was down to two games consistently (3 during peak hours), and sometimes a game would go round the clock.

In August I made my return to TI for next month's freeroll. Most of the time its 1 game, made up of mostly regs and a couple people staying at the hotel. The game can be sporadic, a couple of times it has broke in the evening. That being said, the action on Fridays and Saturdays has been great, and plays very big. This last Saturday there were 3 games going at 1am, but was quickly reduced to 1 game within an hour.

Last week was the first time I had seen a limit game there, and that was because 5 people staying at the hotel started it each day, and of course passers by would join. It was a 3/6.

I did the promo in February - it was one table, it didn't even run 24/7, and twice there was a second table.

If you're suggesting that throughout all of February the game never once rolled through into the next day, and that only twice did a second game run, I will have to respectfully disagree with you.
