Curious if anyone's managed to play in GBH or Niagara since Ontario "re-opened".....

I played in GBH, it was open during the holidays.

Just a quick reminder rake is 10 percent up to 15 - awful.

So this means 1/2 is basically unbeatable, I'm assuming the same thing for 1/3 unless it's very deep stacked or very wild with a large buy in. I never thought that I would see the day when live legal poker has a similar rake as many undergrounds.

I remember the day when 5/10 limit was 10 percent to 5 in Ontario and that was deemed high compared to Vegas, but that would still be less than 10 with inflation.

Does anybody have a clue why Ontario has allowed this rape of the games?

Looks like the CNE is finally reopening this year. A little good news. Best poker room in the GTA by far. Don't know if they raise the rake this year.

Maybe I missed it, but I don't see any mention of the casino (or poker) returning to the CNE. In fact, I'd be willing to bet it doesn't run.

Does anyone know what is the current session fee for 1/3 and 2/5?

You're probably right. Their website hasn't been updated in about a year.

I've heard rumours from a couple people that Woodbine is renovating the 4th floor and is going to have poker shortly. I haven't been to WB in ages, and don't know if it'd be possible to even go to the 4th floor and have a look, but it's an intriguing rumour.

They have had that rumor for years about live poker, but then again they converted the 3rd floor to a high stakes slot and table game area, but poker is viewed as the Cinderella of casino games. It would be nice if the opened a sports book too, or just had the horse racing betting machines take sports bets. It wouldn't be hard to do and would be profitable for the casino.

I popped into Woodbine yesterday for an hour and wow they only want money. It's a shade less obvious than the EX casino/cardroom but now they are charging 2.25 for water??? All of the cheaper food places were closed less the snack booth which had sky high prices(picture Sky Dome light).

The management of Woodbine will never have poker unless they forced to they are too greedy...

One lol? Toronto could support a 200 table room if run well.

Corruption, ignorance, gov't over regulation, I think those are the basic hurdles.

It will run if the EX is open as it finances the 3 week fair. Before the casino was allowed by the province the EX was continually in deficit and once the casino was permitted the EX never was in the red again.

Glad to see poker back at Casino Niagara. They have the same session fees as before but hours are noon-4am now.

Screw greedy ass Great Canadian Gaming with their $15 rake, one hand now covers pretty much my entire hour.

What are the session fees? Also do they have barriers for the players do to Covid? Are they charging for refreshments like Woodbine? Thanks.

new to the forum but just found this. Whats the go-to option for people playing live in Toronto? are there any reasonable home games running that are safe? any news that is current would be cool.

Played 2-5 with a $200-1k buy in. Session fees were $8 a half hour. They take a dollar for bad beat jackpot too from each pot. Water is $1.50 now and most people just give the waitress $2. Didn’t have any coffee or tea but pretty sure they’re charging for that now too.

1-2 is $7 a half hour and 5-10 should be $9 a half
