That is correct. Closest rooms to Toronto are Brantford, Niagara and Rama.

No, I mean Port Perry. Great Blue Heron. If I meant Durham Live / Pickering I would have said that.

Great Canadian despises poker and I've heard that there's nothing in the works for either their new Pickering joint nor the future Mississauga one.

Port Perry killed the poker golden goose. They'd been wanting to ever since Rama opened.

Srs? NL? I haven’t played in over a year until this week due to being on vacation near a room. I hope you are right.

Folks please use the Home Poker forum if you're looking for a home/underground game. Discussion of that isn't allowed here. Thanks.

Unless you heard that from someone wearing a polyester blazer and a name tag, I seriously doubt it’s true.

Not sure where you're getting your information from, but it's 12 tables with no exact date yet.
Sometime in the fall as of right now.
More details to follow

The poker tournaments at Casino Rama always sold out, but believe it or not, Gateway Casinos cancelled all the scheduled tournaments after July 8! The only casino tournaments left in southeastern Ontario is at Casino Niagara. The satellites have started for the Niagara Series of Poker in October.

Hoping to see Woodbine come back soon but until then were stuck with undergrounds
Underground "gambling dens" were raided in Woodbridge yesterday in an organized crime raid which also included confiscation of homes and vehicles.

I remember when Woodbine had legal poker and seeing some underground dealers playing in the games and wondering why the York Region police never touched these games even after shoot outs on the properties and fire bombings, I guess they were going to take down a whole gang not one underground casino....https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/largest-m...ized-1.4513261

This morning's Globe and Mail has it on the front page: "Police allege Mafia laundered $70-million in Ontario casinos, nine arrested." In the body of the article it says: "Money was laundered through legal casinos," as well as in illegal underground games, but it doesn't mention which ones. Here's a link but it's behind a paywall: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/cana...ul-mafia-clan/

I wonder if this investigation, which has been developing a while, has anything to do with OLG's current hostility to poker?

I don't think so because in the police press conference video gambling machines were displayed and those are the bread and butter of every legal casino. I'm not even sure OLG is hostile towards poker, their partners are as the dollar revenue per square foot isn't as good as slot machines.

I don't think you can even money launder playing poker..the game is too slow.
