Sorry to say it though. Rama really blows. The limit players and thus games all left. If you want young college fish go to Fallsview.
They'll never have anything except 1-2 2-5 NL and 2-5 Limit. 5-10 please. All the high rollers are at Fallsview.

Never heard of anyone going this way. And I'm pretty sure there's no bus from Port Perry to GBH, shuttle or otherwise. I imagine there are cabs, but I would think it would be cheaper to rent a car and drive the whole round trip. (I don't know what the Go schedule is like, but I think that would be a problem as well for your return. ...)

If you post on here with enough lead time, you might find someone to share the rental cost or the driving.

I was at Rama yesterday, Apr. 11th, at least in the morning they tried to start a 5/10 NL game, they even broadcasted this to the entire casino.

Going to Rama this Saturday for the first time in ages. Hope there's at least 2-5. Anyone ever see 5-10 there? 5-5 PLO? Just 1-2 and 2-5 eh?
Actually they have internet at that hotel . Hmmm. Maybe won't be at the pokerroom after all.

just wanted to chime in on the GBH 2/5NL.

it's a 2/5 SPREAD limit, $500 max buy in. max raise $100, up to 4 raises. don't know how this is going to go, but i'm pretty sure not many of the limit players are going to be intersted. if they are, they're going to be complete nits.

i'd consider myself a semi-reg at the GBH, been going there regularly since 2002 and played every limit. been going there less now, just about once a week cause of other things.

imo, the 20/40 is good only on the weekends, cause you have a lot more action when you have randoms just wanting to gamble. but during the week, the 20/40 line up is full of regs who are nits. the 10/20 game is always full of bad regs who are just there to pass time. the 10/20 is very profitable.

the 20/40 omaha game is unbeatable. i've been playing it for the past 3 years and i'm just about even in that game. it's good to dabble in if you're running good and just want to splash around, but as a regular game, you're not pushing much of an edge. i used to look at the line up and go "wow table full of fishes, again" and run to my seat. but really, it doesn't matter. ppl peel light, there's very little "protection", you just have to end up with the nuts by the river against 4/5 other ppl. completely high variance game with very little actual "skill".

as for the PLO game at fallsview, someone mentioned in this thread that it's not the same as before? is it still a regular weekend thing? i've played it twice, both saturday nights. was thinking of heading down there very soon to play PLO.

by the way, good idea starting this thread!

spread limit thing sounds kinda gross

i mean you might as well just play 20/40+ limit

the plo at fallsview is sporadic now but the NLHE action has picked up from the little i've seen. Don't play there a ton but when you see 10/20nl back on a saturday night you know the other games are good.

Best thing about fallsview now is that they got rid of that stupid 2/5 with $300 max buyin and 5/5 with $500 max.
Made it just $2/5 with $500 max

IMO Fallsview still needs to raise the cap on the $5/10 to $1500-2000 or something.

I'll be at rama alot this summer on the way to/from the cottage! see ya'll there

yeah i'm not sure how the spread limit is gonna turn out. im just hoping that the limit players will venture into it, although i don't expect them to play.

very glad that the 5/5 game is gone. i didn't understand why they did that in the first place. if anyone has been to fallsview recently , i'd like to hear if the PLO is running.

The GO bus service is poor and is only for morning/afternoon commuting to the city. I think the bus goes into the center of Port Perry. The cab fare to the casino from there could be 15 dollars to 20 dollars from there alone as the drive is pretty far from the pick up points of the bus.

Rama has good food, good service and great people, but some of their dealers are terrible... especially a dealer named Dwight is so rude and doesn't pay attention. I flop nuts on the flop with 4 players and he just goes to the turn card before anyone acted. And he did a lot other small things like about to deal the flop without asking the BB and giving change to early. He was also very rude to me cause I took long to check in this one hand... he was just generally an ******* to everyone. If anyone knows Dwight don't tip him and complain to the supervisor if he messes up.

In before they change Dwight's name!! He does suck and is the worst dealer in North America, no doubt in my mind.

Just played the $100 NL omaha tourney at Brantford yesterday. Decent turnout 28 peeps, finished 7th. I tried to hold out cause I KNEw final 3 would chop (for approx 800) and they gave 4th money back. sigh.

Played 10-20 after and talking to 2 dealers from Port Perry. They will be having 3 games turn $100 spread limit.

PLO did not go at all last weekend at the Fallsview. List was long but the floormen that don't like Omaha were working. 5-10 NLHE was pretty slow this week too. Definitely call first if you are looking for the PLO game.

Is Dwight the Chinese guy at Rama? A few weeks ago this Chinese dealer was tilting me hard. He was saying what players had after the hand and was generally killing the action.

Is there a Toronto study group? I'd love to study with some and go to casinos together, even by bus. PM me.

Correction, game did go Saturday for a little while. I was at Rama that night, but my friend said he played in the game and it was not very exciting. Tonight(Friday) there is a big list but no Omaha yet. Hopefully tomorrow.
