King West or Liberty would be good spots to check out. I'd say The Annex is a close 2nd. Prob a lot cheaper rent wise and more university girls.

Apparently all the Woodbine Racetrack threads have been closed.

Went to Woodbine Racetrack last night to test out electronic machines! Big action on the $2/5 nl games for a wed night! I lost $800 but got it in on the flop as a 76 percent favourite for a $1700 pot! Will be going back!

$2/5 nl at woodbine racetrack! wed night. 2 $2/5 nl games 5 $1/2 nl and 1 $1/2 nl plo! Big action for a $2/5 check the stack sizes! Mr chan cashed out well over 4k in 5 hours of play!

A lot of fallsview players there.. however lots of underground shooters as well. I was impressed with the large pot sizes and big stacks at the 2/5 nl games.

And this is playing only on a wed.

Hate to give Woodbine a positive review (as I live in Niagara Falls and the games are suffering) but if I lived in the GTA, I wouldn't be going to Fallsview very much anymore. The games are pretty good, you get 50 hands per hour, there's a $5 max rake and there is no tipping. The place is a little mismanaged (at the moment) but I'm sure that will improve.

...btw: 20-30 Fallsview regs there on Saturday afternoon.

By fallsview regs u mean some random 30-40 year old guy who couldn't beat 5c/10c online?

Or some 25 year old online kid that plays live on the side?

Either way I think I will be going to woodbine in the future ALOT

Does the 5/10 limit go at all and what are the min and max for 1/2NL and 2/5NL? Thanks!

The response to the Woodbine Poker Room with only word of mouth advertising has been incredible. This week up to 7 tables running and the all 11 tables were running on the weekend . I have counted at least 30 Fallsview regulars that seem to enjoy the luxury of playing poker within a half hour of their residence. The staff have been for the most part considerate to open up games as needed and has always been friendly .

Toronto definitely needs a bigger Poker Room ASAP !

The buy ins are : 1\2 60-300 2\5 100-500 5\5 200-1000 1\2 PLO 100-300

The 5\10 Limit did go last Saturday but has not run too often

Woodbine Racetrack poker room had 10 of 11 tables going yesterday at night time. 3 $2/5 nl games (500 max) 1 $5/5 nl game (1k max), 1 $1/2 plo game and 5 $1/2 nl games.

The games were good and a lot of money on the tables. Here is a hand that I saw at the $1/2 nl table. A friend of mine was involved. Proof that the electronic poker pro machines deliver the action!

If you can't see it! Hero had AsJh opponent has Kd10d board AcAdKh Jd Qd .. Full house vs Back door royal flush. GROSS!

Finally a friendly oriented poker room in Toronto! Who cares if it's electronic. Staff takes into consideration the players needs and are very helpful. And you get .50 cents an hour comp! Every single Fallsview poker regular who lives in Toronto has been showing up here!

So far they have gotten over 2,000 members who have signed up for a Poker Pro account at woodbine! Amazing! This is with zero advertising!

I'm going out tonight. How does the account work? Do I need to take cash? Or can I use my (poker-site friendly) Visa card?

You could use your Visa at the cage but it'll be credited as a cash advance.

Just bring cash

All I can say is LOL liveplayers.

At around 3am everyone said they are either fallsview regs or underground-toronto games regs.

From playing their 7 hours I dont think I saw one competent player at 1/2 that I played with, lol

I was at the 1/2 in the corner last night. Where were you?

It was a very passive table, which was good for me since I have little experience in NL. Despite the passive play, I thought there were some decent players as well as some weak ones

There was a larger limit table next to ours--5nl, I think--where there was a huge amount of gambling going on. Someone apparently went all in 5-handed on the turn with a dry ISD and took down a 4k pot.

I was hoping to get to play some PLO but I was told that while there'd been a game all afternoon it had broken at 6. Another one was starting when I left at 1 a.m. ...

Nice venue and I found that, once I got used to them I quite liked the electronic tables--though I hated having to wade through (and still hearing some of) all the slots.
