I don't go that often, but when I go, it's the weekend and it's running.
There's a lot of regulars there. Very tight, but aggressive to protect their hands. Pre-flop you're looking at min. 20 to see a flop. A couple of the wealthier regs will bet their draws heavy. Most of the table will bet their hand hard to protect it, so you have to get to know the players.
It's Omaha, so there's lots of luck and action. you need a big bank role as it's def. not passive at Fallsview.

Thanks, that's very helpful. I think I'll stick with the 20/40 limit Omaha game at Heron if I'm looking for that kind of action.

I agree, but I hear it doesn't run that often anymore. Can you confirm?

I haven't been out in a many months, partly because the last two times I went they were having trouble filling a table. (For a while they regularly had two.)

Sure would be nice to have something less of a drive (and legal).

New rule: You can only ask to see your opponents cards at showdown if you're in the hand.
This is untrue. Any player at the table can ask, nothing has changed.

I wish I got names of the dealer and the floor person for you. They assured me it was 100% true.

I can also confirm this isn't right. Anyone at the table can ask to see the hand at showdown.

Question is if your not in the hand why would you do that? Bad etiquette.....

Went this past Fri. night starting around 9pm.
They had bunch of 2-5's running, and also hasd 5-10, 10-25, and a table of 25-50 NL.
Also had a table of 5-10 PLO running strong all night. 25-50NL went shorthanded around 3am I think.

How deep was the 25-50NL playing?
What are the Min-Max buyins for 5-10, 10-25 and 25-50 at fallsview now. I stopped going there because their max buyins were very shallow comparitive to the west coast and local games. Have they changed at all?

Nope, you can't see the cards if you're not in the hand. Most players at the table are in the hand anyways, unless they are waiting for the BB to come around or something.

I think it's bad etiquette every time someone asks to see a hand unless it's your turn to show it at the showdown.

Just played at Niagara and the dealers were being trained for the new BBJ coming soon. I think its coming around christmas. $1 will be added to BBJ jackpot that is $20 or more. The rules are

1) pot is at least $20
2) at least 4 players need to be dealt a hand at the table
3) minimum hand to qualify is Aces full tens

I plan to be at niagara, wed, thursday, and possibly more depending how the 1/2 100 and 200 max goes.

This time of year is probably the best time of year with all the tourist at falls for the holidays and new years right?

heading to old niagara tonight with a couple of friends, probably playing in the 1-2 game. The last few times I played this game, I couldn't believe how bad some of the regs were. I haven't been playing a lot of poker lately though, so I may be the one wearing the fins tonight.

Going to be driving up to toronto for a week this summer to play poker, most likely 1/2 NLHE. recommendations for the best casino to play at? Browsed the thread for a bit but saw lots of extremely contradicting statements. thanks in advance guys/girls.

I can confirm that 95% of niagara players cant beat 1c2c online.. based on what I saw on wed..

Was only up 150 for 8 hour session, but +EV was 500~

I shall be back more times in the new year..

Where's a good place to stay if I'm going to be doing the classic from the 6th-8th or 6th-9th? Cheeeeap hotels? Prolly not spending much time in the room so anything decently bed bug free is fine.
