I suck at NL more than I suck at Limit, so that is a problem I hope one day Heron or Brantford will have decent food/comps. You play at Branford Captain? What stakes?

Roxy is the bomb!

Dont know if you remember me, I'm the young guy who played omaha with you about a month ago, we got into some big pots together and i was telling you how they were some of the biggest pots i'd ever been in because I usually don't play that high...tall guy black hoodie

Anyways, the underground scene in Toronto is amazing, although rakes are high of course (they have to pay rent/overhead somehow). Not seedy, usually local businessmen and some regs, no other nonsense at most places if you know what i mean.

Fallsview has gotten better IMO with combining 2/5 and 5/5, although I am officially a cooler magnet there now lol.

cheers

Sorry Ed. Not that weekend.
Finally going to Rama though...it's been over 1.5 years. I'm going next Friday, the 9th.

If I do well I'm going to hit up GBH later this month.
I'll be playing the NL omaha tourney at Brantford the 17th or 18th this month too.

****......NL at GBH, another Rama in the making.
All the limit games going to disappear. That's sad

I'll dabble in 10-20 at both GBH and Brantford. If I feel lucky I'll hit the 20-40 Omaha.

Do not eat at the buffet unless u want food poisoning. So sad how this plays has turned out.
The chips are the same as the Borgata; but really who cares.
The action is there. Eat a sandwich by the table (use disinfectant wipes though)
I agree rake was a good decision

2/5 100 max...kind of a joke but i think if they introduce NL the max buy in will eventually increase

I care, half the fun of playing poker is rustling chips, which is very difficult with those chips. They stick together and cant be cut down, every time i raise on the turn its a mission.

As per the sandwiches, they raised the prices and allow no substitutions. So if you want a grilled cheese with bacon sorry for you. You want a tuna with a tomatoe sorry cant do. I have offered to pay for substitutions and still been told no cant do.

fair enough about the chips; when did they start being stingy on the sandwiches?

Just out of curiousity, does Fallsview, Niagara, or Rama offer poker room rates? If so, on which days, and how many hours do you need to play?

Pretty sure they don't, but Fallsview will send out a flyer for free or discounted rooms next month, and a free meal after you get some points on your card. Poker gives you 50 cents and hour in comps and I have gotten the flyer from playing just poker. Rooms are expensive at Fallsview but there are many available for about $50 within a few blocks.

Thanks for the bomb compliment I think Yeah, for sure I remember you. It's not every day a guy tells me that the 3K pot he just won is the biggest pot he ever played. Most of us at the Omaha table also play 5-10 HE a lot so yeah that was pretty funny to me
Always hear about those Toronto games! The price to play at Fallsview is unbeatable though. Omaha has only been starting Saturday night and not what it used to be.

Yah I hadn't played 5/10 up to that point so it definitely was. You were supercool about it and a sick good player btw. How is the pokerstars mixed game treating you?

I just found this thread.

I hadn't played much live poker (except my monthly home game) in the past year because a big editorial project was keeping me busy. That's now complete so I took an evening off to go to GBH with a buddy a couple of Sundays ago, where I played HE--some 20-40, mostly 10-20. I had a bad evening (saw DieHarder there in the 20-40; he also had a bad night). Snd so far I haven't had an urge to go again. I had played at GBH semi-regularly in Spring 09, mostly in the 20-40 Omaha several game, which I enjoyed, but when I was out this time the only Omaha table got short early on (maybe that's what happens on Sundays?) and was being kept going by Poker Joe and similar nits, not the usual wild men, so I took a pass--even though Joe said to me, when I stopped by, "Oh, do join us. Short-handed Omaha is where the real action is." Sure, Joe. Thanks for the opportunity.

Maybe I'll try Brantford again. I enjoyed their 20-40 HE the few times I was out there in 09 (I got killed in my one venture into the 50-100 game). But the plain truth is I hate the long drives to either venue from downtown T.O. And since I'm finding online so much more difficult these days (though PLO is addictive), I'm thinking it may be time to cut back ...

There's always the Ex come August, I guess ...

Rama closed the entrance beside the poker room (and the cafeteria). It has a tunnel to the smoking tent outside.

I noticed alot of the regular managers and dealers have left.

Also, I didn't see the regular degens that I usually see.

Has anyone ever gone this route?
Do they have shuttle buses from
the GO Station in Pt.Perry?
Or do I have to take a taxi?

That stupid door is alarmed, and goes off every 20minutes. Drives me insane.

Hey Ed, I don't think they have a bus. The only ones I know about are from the suburbs like Mississauga woodbridge that go to Rama and Fallsview.
The chinatown bus from downtown toronto only goes to Rama and
Niagara too.
