I played at Pickering for a few hours last night.
When I got there at 9pm during the Super Bowl, three tables of $1/$3 NL and two tables of $2/$5 NL were running. When I left at midnight, just the three $1/$3 tables were still going.
They are currently using an Excel-based list. $1/$3 is $300 max, $2/$5 is $1000 max. Lists were also open for $5/$5 NL and $20/$40 Omaha half-kill. Call-ins taken with 90 minutes to check in. They post semi-regular updates on their
Twitter page.
Room was brand new. It's up on the third floor, so secluded from the main casino floor -- could be good or bad depending on your view. Way more staff on hand than was necessary. Cage person was brand new and took forever to count out stacks of reds.
Rake at my $1/$3 table was 10% to $20 max. I didn't look, but I assume this was what they take at the bigger games as well. Unexpected nuance of this room was dealers counting down and stacking medium-sized pots before pushing them to ensure they are taking the correct rate. Really highlights that this rake structure is complete robbery.
Overall the room is promising, especially for people like me who live on the east end of the city - don't have to drive to the airport or Port Perry.
