It was pretty busy for Jones/Cormier so I imagine Mayweather/Mcgregor will be even busier. Also the actual fight probably won't start until midnight

Keep an eye on when the dealers are dropping the BBJ if you play anything other than 1/2... Been seeing a lot of dealers take $1 at $20 and $2 at $30, regardless of the stakes. The floor also thought this was correct until she checked the book - it is at 10x the bb and 15x the bb.

Would there be any interest in starting a mixed game a night a week here? I'd like to see some H.O.E. HORSE or even some badugi etc. I'd also be open to 8 game if that got some of the no limit or PLO players interested (with a cap, of course).

If so, please let me know what games you'd like, what limits, and an ideal day. If we get enough of a consensus we can get one going.

Played here tonight, whats the general consensus on the dealers here? IMO it was painful to watch.. not many of them wanted to be there, and the one dude didn't say a word his whole down. Didnt announce bets or anything.

I think they had more tables then they expected and pulled in some table game dealers to deal poker. Normally the dealers are average to good.

I tend to agree. There are a few of them that make a few too many mistakes but on the whole they are average to good

Does it say something about the state of poker dealing on the east coast that "average" is now considered acceptable?

Dealers here are solid. Not sure what you expect from your dealers.

If one guy isn't talking, another is talking too much, right?

Good point about the rake being dropped. I'll have to keep an eye on that. $5 plus 2 is a farce.

Was anyone else there Saturday night? It was a complete **** show. I waited for more than an hour and wound up driving to Parx instead of staying. At one point, I was sweating my friend and was told I couldn't stand there talking to him. Then I went and waited by Geno's for a while and realized I would never hear my name called. So I went to the bathroom and went to go in the back door of the room. Blocked by a security guard. I go to the front door. Blocked by two security guards AND Vicki.

Well done Sugarhouse. Well done.

Wait so they don't allow someone to sit behind in cash games?

typically they don't care about that.

they were a little tighter last night because of the Mayweather/McGregor fight. it was the only place in the casino that had it, so they had the curtains closed and they weren't letting people in to the room unless they were on the list to play poker.

every table was mostly full and the walls were lined with people. once the fight ended the place cleared out within 20 minutes.

they were calling so many names on the 1/2 list and getting no responses that they finally just scrapped the list after like 20 names called and announced that anyone who was on the list to come up to the desk, presumably to check in, then they probably deleted all the other names off the list.

I do wish some dealers would just run the game a little more assertively. Oblivious "oh a waitress order I'll just turn my back on the game for a minute and a half" guy [who is oddly plentiful in this room] needs to be yelled at or just have his cards mucked the 2nd or 3rd time.
Comps expiring in 30 days is lame.

I don't think comps expire after 30 days. I have a descent balance and only play a few times a month

They expire if you have 30 days of inactivity. Not if you play.

Mind if I ask why you do this? The person watching always seems so incredibly bored.

Do you know if there is an exp date in general on them? For example, I know Borgata was 6 months and they were gone if not used.

They like watching the action, not good enough to play themselves other than limit. Not playing 8 hr sessions with someone with me lol

By definition doesn't average have to be acceptable? If every dealer was above average that would become average. Right?

SugarHouse seems better than Harrahs - Parx has some of the best and worst I've ever seen

I think dealers at all 3 are pretty comparable. There are good ones and there are becoming fewer and fewer bad ones.

I don't go to Parx much. Mainly because its an hour from where I live. Sugarhouse is 30 minutes and Harrah's is 15.

I went to Parx Saturday night because of the long wait list at Sugar.

First dealer after I get there is a woman who has never dealt to me before.

The player in Seat 7 was streaming the fight on his phone. She was much more interested in the fight than she was in dealing hands to the players. Really, though, I was the only one who wanted to pump hands out and everyone was more interested in the fight. But a dealer shouldn't be.

I saw that H.O.E. went during the fight on Sat (I was drunkenly donking at 1/2) - I'd be down with joining that on Friday nights if it becomes a regular thing.
