Daily tournaments are starting December 9th. Should bring even more action to the room.

Tournament Descriptions Now on Bravo. Congratulations Raye and Sugar House.

10 AM - NLHE Re-Entry $50/$10/$5 - Sunday through Friday, 15 minute Levels, Late Registration Until end of Level 6, $10K Tournament Chips, Seating may be limited.

7 PM - $55/$15/$25/$5 - NLHE Bounty Re-entry - Monday and Wednesday, 20 Minute Levels, Late Registration Until end of Level 6, $20K Tournament Chips

7 PM - $75/$15/$25/$5 - NLHE Bounty Re-entry - Thursday, 20 Minute Levels, Late Registration Until End of Level 6, $15k Tournament Chips

NOON - $100/$20/$100/$5 - Bounty Re-entry - Saturday, 20 Minute Levels, Late Registration Until End of Level 6, $15K Tournament Chips

Buy-In/Administrative Fee/Bounty/Dealer Fee

Scheduled until January 31, 2015

Let the opinions begin. Would prefer at least one Freezeout, something other than just NLHE, BUT do understand this is just the beginning to get the staff up to speed in putting on Tournaments for the next few weeks, leaving plenty of time to adjust and review. DO these right and others will follow.

Based on length of levels, re-entry and depending on the Blinds Level Structure these could last 6 hours + ?? Imagine Blind levels are available at the Room.

Over/Under for the First Tournament next Tuesday Morning.

Doubtful it increases the action much. Re-entry mostly means "don't expect to see many busted tourney donks in your cash game" since they can bust and re-enter.

Raye, I thought we were on the same page and that you were going to host a PLO tourney. Any idea when that might happen?

Raye,

Will there be any amounts of money deducted from tournament prize pools for the dealers other than the amount already designated in the buy in?

TRIP REPORT

Made my first voyage to sugarhouse poker room. Invited a local buddy and he was too scared to drive over. What?

At any rate, walk into casino after cab dropped me off. Did a loop, nary a sign for the card room. But plenty of unhappy parka wearing chain smoking slots and table game players keeping 5 hints crowded on a Wednesday night.

I recalled posters commenting convenience to valet so walked out that way and found the indoor tennis tent...er poker room. What a very pleasant surprise. Lots of tables, lots of action, pleasant and easy sign in. Sufficient tvs, pa system you can hear when called. No smoking.

Played 2-5 around 5p. Good mix of players although a little heavier on the reg/nit ratio and lower on the gambol quotient than I'd prefer but maybe the drunk spewtards come later or on weekends.

While I loved to peaceful smoke free environment, you aren't likely to find any stumbling table game players just happening by to give poker a shot. Also horrible lack of toilet in tent requiring you to go back across to main casino to drain the lizard (maybe just a personal issue for me since once the seal pops...)

Found the players pretty engaging and light hearted. A few needles here and there but generally good guys and decent chats between hands. Also appreciated the donut runs one of the regs sponsored with his $2/hr comps.

Bottom line - nice environment to play cards with good action and convenient to Philly for us business trip types.

Some points on the tourneys:
1. Why re-entry in all three mid week evening tourneys in a limited 24 table room? Wouldn't you want to see those play cash when busting?
2. Admin fees are very high percentage of buyin. Raise buyin $10-15 and keep fees as is IMO. Would not lose players because of price increase.
3. Would be nice to see PLO or mix tourneys.
4. Your Saturday noon tourney should have 30 min levels for $230. The other room in Bensalem runs one same time with 30 min levels
5. Less chips the better in turbo structures. Deeper later in tourney that way

Having said all of this, I do understand that these are just dailies. I would prefer the room to get a good rep tourney wise from beginning.

Love the room fwiw

finally checked out the poker room.. I really like the atmosphere.. looks like several Borgata people are working there so I have high hopes.. I arrived around 5 p.m. to play some $1/$2.. there was about 8 tables or so tables running.. as the night went on the room was pretty much full with nba star Russell westbrook and his teammate perkins playing.. westbrook was at a table playing $2/$5 plo/nlh with heaps in front of him.. several of my dealers made rookie mistakes but most dealers were competent.. several players at my table were pretty bad but had tough players too.. a friend I see from playing poker said the players there are awful and you should do well there.. I agree that having bathroom in main casino is annoying but actually getting away from table and getting fresh air to use bathroom helped me refocus too.. but when it's super cold and snow it's not gonna be fun.. ended up profiting on a 6 hour session and will definitely be back..

How late were Westbrook and Perkins there? Did they look game-ready? Did you ask them if they are going to cover 12 points against the Sixers today?

I would think they would play at Harrahs, assuming they are staying near the sports complex I think that would be more convenient.

A few people asked them questions to try to get info on betting the game tomorrow, they were both smart and wouldn't even say a word in response. As long as people weren't asking them questions they couldn't answer or being stupid, they were very nice guys... Handled the rest well by ignoring it.

downtown/sugarhouse is way closer to the sports complex than chester, especially since the players likely stay downtown. That's before taking into consideration how much a dump chester is.

Most likely they're in a hotel near the airport, but if you had a night off and wanted a night on the town, would you go to Chester or Philly?

I played with Perkins and Westbrook, they left around midnight, westbrook a bit earlier than Perkins. The game was fun and lose. Westbrook was very active and won quite a few big pots. They both played pretty well.

First Ever Tournament at Sugar House Annex Poker Room.

Tomorrow, December 9, 2014 at 10 AM

Has any one seen the structure levels? Are they published any where?

Over/Under - 65?

Will the results be published on Bravo? Number of Runners, Prize Pool, First Place?

Good Luck to all participants and congrats to the First Winner that will have bragging rights.
