Despite it's fall from grace I thought the Trop needed a thread. The BBJ is up to $215K that may add a little excitement in the room. I do miss the No-Limit room that's now replaced with slots. Are any twoplustwoers even playing there?

I play there on occasion when my daytripper bus is to the Trop and I don't feel like walking somewhere else. It's not what it was several years ago, but I don't think it is as bad as the reputation it has on here. I have played there several times in the past six months, and I was fine with the cleanliness of the place. The game selection could be better, but unless you are at the Taj or the Borgata, the same could be said about every casino in town.

I used to play there a lot, but I don't think I've been there since 2006.
I can now get much better comp offers at much nicer hotels with much better poker rooms in multiple locations.

A lot of people that say the casino is a dump have not been there after it was taken over because of all the issues that were happening. Athough the decor of the poker room needs a remodel, the rest of the casino is very nice. I really like The Quarter and the many dining options available.

I would go despite its shortcomings if it consistently ran the pink chip game but every time I call it's not running and there's not even a list, usually.

I hear a lot about that pink chip game. What makes it so good?

Lots of action. Something about the number of chips that makes people want to throw them around. I haven't been there since the place went in the crapper. If they got this game going regularly, I might think about playing there again.

I was there earlier this year- I think the cleanliness of the place is fine- def better then Taj lol. Overall I found play to be soft at 1-2. I think I was there on a Friday. Soft, and there were a good amount of people in the room, but- I agree not like it used to. A few years ago, the whole room would be filled. Making the room smaller and the failure of the casino to attract people is driving the casual poker business down. But- I win when i go there so I can't complain!!!

Plus- the restaurants and shopping is still fun! The Quarter is still a nice place to hang out! Looking forward to them getting better property management, because it could be a fantastic draw.

this place used to be one of the top poker rooms in AC up until around the time the borgata opened. I think part of the problem is the room is hidden from the main casino floor, so you don't have too many drunk gambling donks walking bye to try some poker. They were also way behind everyone else like they were the last to get a shufflemaster and it took them forever to get a BBJ.

Went to the trop on Saturday night. Considering how most poker players look down on the Trop poker room I was suprised how full/busy it was.

For those who are wondering they started a pink chip game around 10 pm.

It was busy due to the bad beat jackpot; once that hits, it will be dull, boring and unexciting as usual...

last time i was there it hit twice in a half hour.
i just heard there was a food & wine festival this weekend so i think those two pretty much explain it.

The Quarter is really nice. I think the Trop's target age group is more like 30+ while the 20somethings gravitate towards the Borg.

The poker room is probably the best room that isn't the Taj or Borg.

I probably should play there more since they have the best/easiest to obtain (avg 4 hrs/day) poker rate that's available during the weekends (I think a little over $100) but they're the only ones who haven't given me actual incentives for playing there for a day trip.

yes i def. agree they have the easiest poker rate and they book multiple dates at the same time.
one tip is when you check in ask for the south tower it's right up the elevator from the poker room. only prob. is if your game is above 1/2 during the week it's hard to find a game there.

I usually do not play at the Trop but I am heading down this weekend and the Trop was the only place willing to give me a poker rate. Thanks for the tip on asking for South Tower, I will def. ask if it is available. Also...PF CHangs ftw

I'm coming to The Trop in about 2 weeks. How have the games been mid-week? Have they been running through the night?

i only play at the trop (1-2), go once a month. there is nothing wrong with this room. the poker rates for rooms are cheap, down to $49-59 weekdays in sept.

the rests. in the quarter are decent to good. try ri ra or pf chengs
