NoLibs is mostly rich 35-50 year olds, used to be a hot neighborhood but the hype has died down a lot. Fishtown is the new hotness, a mix of kids fresh out of college looking to drink a lot, young yuppies with kids/dogs, and old racists. Go a little farther north and it is much cheaper / there are more drug addicts.

Both are gonna be hard to find a studio in, since it is mostly rowhomes. Last I checked (6 years ago), a studio at Schmidts was like 1200$ or something ridiculous like that.

Are you looking for a place to live, or a place to crash after a long session?

Thanks for the input.

I'm basically just looking for a studio apartment.

Won't be staying there 100% of the time, but 4-5 days/wk. It's gonna serve triple duty tho: I work from home so I'll be using it as a weekday office space and also as an online poker lair in addition to a place to crash after long live sessions.

Basically an office and grinding/studying pad with a bed. Just neatly packaged in a studio apartment.

Don't mind spending $1400/mo or so considering how frequently I'll be there.

Don't care about the "hipness" of the area, this is solely a pragmatic transaction.

The reason for Philly is it's the best geographic compromise between where I live now (NY) and the local casinos in the area (Parx, SugarHouse, even AC, DE, and MD). I need to get in live poker reps as I prepare to play more live poker in 2020 (I'm an online-only player at the moment). I don't wanna drive 1.5 hrs to Parx every time I wanna play a live session. And I also need a separate work area and grinding area away from my primary residence--it's too noisy and distracting to work and grind there.

If you look at the intersection of Univ City and West Philly (think 45th and Market or so) You can easily get the entire townhouse for $1000-$1100 a month. I personally pay $800/month actually (for an almost 2000 square foot townhouse).

Also, when WSOP.com/888 comes to Pennsylvania in the next couple months, they will share player liquidity with Nevada, Jersey and Delaware and you will be able play things like WSOP Circuit and Bracelet Events.

Oh man its so funny you mention WSOP.com, I was also thinking of alternatively getting a place in NJ so I could play there. Is it conformed WSOP.cpm is coming to PA?

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'm just gonna have to spend a day or two on site looking at a few places. I some ideas in mind.

Yea, its confirmed. Might take a while for PA to start sharing liquidity with NV/NJ/DE though.

Will it be possible to deposit/withdraw money at the physical casino? Tying a credit card is unappealing.

5-0 PLO runs often. It's taking away from the 2-5 NL player pool.

Also Mods are you going to just change this thread to Rivers Casino Philadelphia formerly Sugarhouse or start a new thread?

I had no idea that was happening. We'll just change the thread name once it happens completely.

what would effectively be the SB in a normal game is the $5 blind in this game and that's it. the game also plays with an unofficial $10 rock straddle often, though it's unofficial, so some players won't do it or sometimes it's missed.

i think buy ins are 200-1000 (possibly 1500) but i've only played it a few times, so i'm not 100% on the BI

Hey regs - when you are barefaced about trying to get the whales into the game, when you talk about how much they lose, when you MAKE BETS ABOUT HOW FAST THEY LOSE THEIR FIRST BUY IN, you push them out of the game.

Maybe that is why 2/5 doesn't run much anymore, and when it does run it is the same 8 nits just paying rake and playing $30 pots all night?

Anyway, do better you morons

To be fair, 5/0 plo has taken a good chunk of the action players from 2/5

Several of the things I mentioned happened in the 5/0 game. I know at least one player who has shied away from playing the game because of it, and two action players decided to play blackjack instead of sitting down at PLO last night cause of the toxic table environment.

New chips are nice and clean. It’s a dramatic change to what we’ve been accustomed to at this casino

Wrt to games:
It appeared several of the normal 2/5 players were back at 2/5 even though plo was running. Wondering if players are starting to realize the BR issues that come with playing plo

Does 1-2 or 2-2 plo ever run or just the 5-0 game?

Also, what the hell is with the rake in their tournaments? Is that std nowadays?

Saturday $45 bi, $28 to the prize pool.

i haven't played plo at sugarhouse but this sounds very similar to what the borgata 5/5 plo regs have done to the game there over the last year or so

Unless it has changed very recently, none of the Rush / Rivers properties rewards systems are connected.
