Its amazing but I was trained as a dealer in florida and I guess I went to the best school ever because I learned everything possible that majority of dealers here dont know.
examples are:
move across table away from the blinds and you only have to post the big blind and its live, alot of dealers think its big and small or they dont even make them post.
miss the small blind and not the big blind then it cost small blind to get back in, and that is DEAD. 90% of dealers think its live.
Making comments on hands in play is not allowed.
After pushing a pot, saying nice hand, well played, good pot, etc.
Many other things that I am hoping that management will be trying to correct before we get real poker possibly Next Year. But I know management doesnt give a sh** in most places in florida. also If you called the floor for a decision, its all depending on who you get as to the ruling because most of them are clueless also. I am speaking mainly about Tampa Hard Rock becuase that where I play almost everyday.
You are so right in the dealers and floor, I always ask if they are players and so many always say they never played before, that is why they make so many easy mistakes reading pots and on betting limits, so many can not even tell you what the min. raise is in a NL game so they just double the last bet, and then argue that they are right.
You are going to see a tidle wave of new dealers and fllor when the state goes from 12 hr a day to 18 or 24. It is going to be a swarm of green dealers for a while but then it will settle down again. You also are going to see a lot of dealers from CA, NV,NJ, CT moving to Florida when they remove the caps and allow extended hour. It is a no income tax state, cost of living is much cheaper then CA, NJ, CT and about the same as NV. Plus the sun and beaches are by far the best in the country.
