long term i dont think it is

i didnt play often but its possible to get on heater reg last week had 8k stack on 1/2 aaron

some of the 5/10 5/5 regs think its possible to beat so i could be wrong i recently found out one of the regs i thought crushed 1/2 was broke so made me doubt it even more.

its beatable if you play good hours. pretty sure aaron's 8k stack was on plo though.

yeah was PLO

everyone saying its beatable
you get like 25 hands an hour and have to pay $5 hour time charge
that alone without rake is -10bb/100 hands
what i should of said was "lol at anyone who thinks they can make a living from 1/2 live"

think of it like this

lets say your pretty competent and your win rate is 20bb/100 after rake its 10bb/100. online good winrate would be between 5+bb/100 (talking about decent samples not your 20k hand run goods)

assume on average you play 6 hours a day sometimes more some times less but average 150hands a day

you play 6 days a week and only miss 2 weeks a year.
you would play 45,000 hands a year

with your win rate would work out to be $9,000 a year not even considering rake or expenses like petrol, casino food, drinks.

so yeah long term seems delusional to think people beat it for anything decent.

people can make double that at 50nl with good rakeback deal.

and to win like 90BI over 45k sample seems optimistic

typo good winrate online prob bit higher like +3PTbb/100 or 6bb/100 fixed that up before people rip me apart for it

well they just upped the rake to 10% to $10 on 1/2. Probably not the best game to play as its raking more p/h than 5/10

Hey mate, i'm interested on playing on your table for some poker chat.

I'm a 200nl player, though.

talking to someone else about it and they mentioned that in one of harringtons book he states a live win rate of 10bb/100 live is crushing lol at star with that win rate you are still losing player not even considering the 10% rake =\ gg time to play 5/5

Interesting... i have been in London for the past 2 years and it was always 1/2 or 5/5 from memory. Any idea when did they opened up the 5-10 & 10-20? That'l give me something to look forward to when i'm back in Sydney in October

Played 1/2 a fair bit there and have 3 questions.
1. What is the 2/5 game like in comparison to the 1/2?
2. What about 1/2 PLO?
3. What are the games like on the weekdays?

Cheers

Help needed.

I'm a bit of a newbie and have never played at Star b4 ( I play 2/3 NLHE at Crown).

What are the commissions/rakes at Star for smaller NLHE games?
Also, any value in the 3-card game or is just a table of Mediterranian rocks? (I've played heaps of 3-card in home games)
I'll only be able to play during the day (shiftworker) - many tables, long wait to get on NLHE games?

And has anyone played down the road in Canberra?
What do they play down there?

Thanks in advance; any help/response/feedback greatly appreciated.

For 80-200 1-2 NL Its 10 per cent of each pot capped at 10 with $5 time-charge on the hour every hour

Shouldn't be too long roughly about 10 minutes even less sometimes there will be a seat open you can jump right into

Hey,

I want to play in the Star. Where can I park? Pretty sick to pay in weekends 25$ just for parking.

Public transport ends at 11pm.

How can I play there? Someone a trick? Free for players etc,?

Please answer fast. Thank you

I'm just visiting here in Newcastle and have not been to Star City yet. So I may not
be of help. But it seems to me that Star city is only a half hour walk to Central
and trains leave central well in to the early morning. So park near a close train stop
take the train into Sydney.

Sign up for a player rewards card, parking is free after 1 or maybe 2 hours of play. You just need to remember to give your player card to an attendant when you put your name on the list for a poker table.

That would be nice. I already have a member card. But its a red one. On the page stands, that parking is free for the pearl members. Is there an exception for poker players?

No exception for poker players, the red card will work fine you just need to stay there for one hour.

if you play poker and give them your card/parking ticket, you get free parking for as long as you're there

Dont know who i played with the other day but im disgusted at the behavior of 2 guys who are obviously from 2+2.
The etiquette and arrogance i saw was mind blowing
guy makes horrid call for fun so you call him a f**** fish and berate a guy whos just there to have fun.

2 of you are a joke you act superior because you use fancy words like "range" "meta game" "3b" post on online forum so you consider yourselves wizards?
you play live 1/2...likely live with your parents & have a tantrum after losing 1 BI..

both of you are delusional muppets

I can't stand players who berate the fish at the table. Not only is it incredibly rude but they often end up scaring off the worst players at the table. How is that smart poker??

Is this still the current rake and table wait time?
