That's a good thing if you can take advantage of it. We can reduce variance by buying in short too. When everyone's 1k+ deep, the dynamic will change a bit but imo still no point to 3betting light in most casino lineups.

I think its only optimal to raise suited aces or kings as a shortstack as naked aces rarely win and im not patient enough to wait for premium aces which is why I prefer to buy in a bit deeper.

The best thing about Star is they play multiple tables of Omaha after lunchtime everyday. You have trouble getting a game up in Melbourne midweek, and it starts the the evening when it does (although weekends are strong) and Brisbane has all but dried up.

Is it allowed to bring backpacks into the Star Casino? Not big backpacker backpacks but something with a laptop inside it? I'm going to be in share accommodation when I come visit and don't really want to be leaving valuables in a house full of strangers.

I have another question, if mods find it inappropriate they can remove the post.

I am looking for accommodation in Sydney and wondering if anyone here has a spare room close to the casino available around mid February. At the moment I'm probably going to book something through airbnb or flatmates.com.au but might be cool to stay with a poker player/s.

Good luck getting comped anything in Sydney if you ain’t staying long. 25k in Poker isn’t actually that much here. I know that sounds crazy but some of the bigger games that get up around tourney time can have $50k plus sitting in stacks. You’ll have to play tables to qualify for the top status. That gets you a few things like discounted rooms and food and drink.

thread still alive 9 years later wao. @nobodynobodybutyou 25k is 20x what the standard game is. Not often game above 2k buy in is run. Stacks get deeper but 50k stacks are a rare occurrence.

To all the new regs, your arrogance is unbecoming. Too much bad manner from regs. Please at least try disguise that you are low equity humans. It's better for the games.
