anyone got any guidance on timing/lists for Friday night games? I haven't played cash on a fri for years for family reasons - are the table openings/wait lists etc similar to Sat, where lots of tables open at 6 but by 7 the lists are generally long again until new tables open at 9?
referencing mainly the 2/5/10 and 2/3 HE?

Not sure I can get there til post 7pm and if lists are likely to be long, I may actually wait til 9

Not overly proud of my 170bb pre flop cram with 88 but I literally have no idea how he has KK there

You made a great fold wth AK

Ah looks like you're talking to me.

I actually didn't really like my fold in that spot against that particular villain (too nitty, just avoiding variance at the end of a session) because I thought he could easily be squeezing light there considering what I'd seen from him over the last few hours. I didn't think your shove was terrible against him (would have been against most players though and you didn't have a lot of history with him unless you've played with him previously).

Maybe you could have avoided that spot and just kept on getting it in with QQ v AA.

How'd you end up?

Was trying to quote you but it didn't let me. I ended up down about 750. Was down 800 when I got to the table. Two hands after the QQ hand I stacked the guy that replaced you with a set vs an overpair. How about you?

Yeah, that guy seemed like he had a lot of FPS and when he limped cut off and then back raised I thought there was a load of small pairs or suited broadway type stuff. So figured I had a load of FE and I'd be chopping with a lot of his range. No idea how somebody overlimps cut off with KK but now he got paid off he'll be doing that again!

That old grey haired Hungarian guy is actually quite difficult to play against

I'm always wary of that old guy and generally make sure I have position on him. He's one of the trickier 2/3 regs in the room....gives good action though and can be pretty spewy.

Hi all,

Have around 10k USD in Neteller (can be changed to party or pokerstars funds) and looking to exchange for AUD.

I can do bank transfers or meetups at Sydney to exchange.

P.S. due to the ridiculous fees that Neteller would charge for exchange, I would be willing to trade the 10k for 13.2k (negotiable) AUD. That's a 300 AUD gain for you. My loss, your gain.

xe.com 'true' rates, 10k USD = 13378$ at the moment.

Very normal for when exchanging to lose 2-3%+.(~200-300$) or else the site takes too much risk when the currency market fluctuates.

Plus, I hope they change future 6max tournaments to Saturday, for a 2dayer weekend tournament. Or at least make day 2 start after working hours monday.

True. Straddle makes this limit really weird, suddenly you need not 100BB but 300BB just not to be short.

I am going to play at Stars in July, could you give me an advice how to get to the waiting list before arriving to the casino in person? In Prague or Rozvadov, waiting is almost always quite short.

You can't do that. You can ask a friend to put you on the list if he/she is there before you if the lists look long

Arrive just before the hour because the hourly table charge means that people finish their sessions on the hour

More tables open at 3pm 6pm and 9pm so if you arrive say just after 6, the table lists will be the shortest/non existent

Good advice, thanks 6 pm sounds well, although it seems a bit early for most of the recreational players.

Strange question for this thread - where else do you like to play and is there enough traffic?

In my limited experience waiting for the 2/3 is not an issue. 2/5/10 is different because it is mostly just one table, when that is full you have to wait. Arriving on top of the hour (or shortly before) seems like a good idea though

I'm not a local but AFAIK there is no other casino nearby, you'd have to go to Melbourne or maybe Brisbane (IDK, I've never been), or find home games. IIRC they want to build a Crown subsidiary in the city center though

So there is just one casino with CG running in Sydney and one in Melbourne? And Brisbane of course.

I don't say realistically Prague is that much different, but 4 - 5 places are running every evening, one at 4 - 5 tables, two at 2, the rest at 1 table. Of course, there is no monopoly, just some regulation.

There is just one casino per state, due to government licensing (with a few exceptions, eg. Echo operates two in QLD)

So if I understand it right, only Stars could run cashgame?

Is there a place you like playing tournaments?

Thanks.

Star is only place with cash games. I don't play the weekly tournaments but the weekly Wednesday at Star is quite popular, Poker Palace has lots of small tournaments every week, probably with fewer players though.
