I don't hate the current temporary space TBH, way better than when they had it jammed it in next to Rocklily.

I like it too. Great viewing on a Friday and Saturday night.

Only issue is that the tables seem closer together. Seats 8/9 and 2/3 constantly hit the other tables

I heard they're getting new tables in the new space.....where the dealer isn't inset so seats 1 and 10 can see better.

Wow, Star is actually spending money on poker, let's all hope for a big marketing push once the new room is done. Would love to see the 5/10 NLHE run regularly which is doable with more players.

Hey guys,

What's the current state of the games at the Star? Apparently they are opening a new room? Is the 5/5 game the biggest regular game for nlh?

5/5 is biggest regular game. 5/10 gets up sometimes. 2/3 is the only game you can guarantee being on 24/7.

New room will be the old room that's currently under renovation.

Thank you WereBeer

Is the 5/5 game $700 max buy in? Do stacks get deep ($1k+) fairly quickly/regularly?

In your average 5/5 game what fish to grinder ratio is there?

Appreciate your help

While we're on it does the 2/5 plo game run 24/7? What's the max buyins for the plo games?

I don't play 5/5 so can't comment on reg/fish ratio, buyins are $300-$700 IIRC. People seem to sit in the game longer than 2/3 and stack sizes therefore get over $1K easily.

At least one table of PLO runs most of the time but not quite 24/7 unlike 2/3 NLHE. Say you go in Saturday 10am, there will be 2 tables of 2/3 NLHE with reg contingent waiting until 12pm to get enough people to play 2/5 ($200 - $500 buyin) and 1 table of PLO. Go in weekday 10am and they'll likely be a table of 2/3 and nothing else.

I can't remember if PLO is 1/3 or 2/5 that is the most common stakes, and not sure of buyins (I think 2/5 is capped at $1500).

Does anybody here play the MTTs at Star?

I'm considering going next Monday for the $550 NLHE public holiday tournament. Seems they got almost 200 entries last public holiday and slightly less the previous one.

Are there many good regs playing in these?

Cheers

Hello guys,

Never played at a casino would like to know what is the equivalent of the star casino $2/$5 no limit holdem and $1/$2/$5 PLO in relation to pokerstars stakes? Also are these tables 6 max or 9 max?

And does anyone know the reg to recreational ratio?

They are 10max!
(Shocked me lots too)

Can not really talk about the stakes in relation to online poker, but I think anyone who has pokered for a while can beat 2/5 for a big clip.

I don't even know why people bother comparing live to online. Anyone that beats NL50 or whatever online will still be a live fish until they adapt.....and vice versa

Anyone know what are the biggest games at the Star on Thurs - Sun night on a average week?

Is the 5/10 any good in terms of players and how about 5/10/20?

PLO gets huge. Hold em rarely gets beyond 5/5, albeit a 5/10 sometimes gets up

The cash structure just got changed. No more 5/5 and the min buy in for 2/5 is 500. Cap for 2/3 also increased to 500.

Found this out on Saturday, am looking forward to set mining 170bb deep vs. people who wouldn't fold top pair if you set fire to their chair.

what is that min/max charge?
The hourly charge + 10% doesn't seem that good....

The buyin structure on the other hand does look good..

Yeah looks amazing, 2/5 100-200bb buyin is amazing. Makes the rake so much more worth it

New 2/3 sounds epic - will definitely have to squeeze a session in when I'm down next in September.
