Can see why the 5/5 still runs, the 2/5 is a good game but it's just so freaking slow compared to 5/5. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets through half the number of hands per hour as the 5/5.
Rather entertaining last night, into the early morning hours, something must have been said and guy walks across the table, picks up other guys chips and starts flinging handfuls of $100 chips across the room screaming "free money for everyone".
Yeah, I take back the slow part, I think I just copped a bad table. Standard of play is roughly what 3/3 was except you get to play a bit bigger, think I'll be making it my home unless I can ever get a 5/10/20 up, the tournies coming up might be a chance?
That is correct, saw it when I went in a few weeks back. I think it's a 100 - 300 buy in and the old one now has a mandatory 5 straddle (1/2/5) which everyone played anyway. Happy to be corrected by the PLO folks (not sure there are any on here).
I'm going to predict the slow death of the 2/5 and 5/5 games. Not because there is something wrong with the games themselves, 2/5 is pretty sweet as a structure and rake, but because the regs treat the games as their own personal party where mocking and ridiculing the mark(s) at the table is part of their fun. Real smart guys, especially as for some of you this is your full time job. Better start learning that PLO or be prepared to take a 50% pay cut and start grinding out the 2/3 if the decline in traffic continues as it has slowly been over the past 12 months.
No bands playing right next door. Bar + food. Main event on the TVs (of which there are plenty including a huge one). Segregated but still easily accessible to the patrons of the sports bar i.e. walk ins. Chip purchase counter in the room. I like.
Any 2+2ers playing the Sydney Poker Championships? I'll play one of the opening event flights.
Will play if I get staked lol. Freshly 18 and had some success in the 2/3 there in the last few weeks. Games are super soft but Im assuming the tournaments are a lot tougher?
