The one chip rule is idiotic. All that ever happens is the dealer says 'one chip doesn't constitute a call....is that a call?' Player says 'yep' and its deemed a call.....every time
Weds night was the biggest ****fight I've ever experienced in a poker room
Floor, dealers and the space just could not cope and incompetence was rife. They capped original 5k entries at 150 and played it 8 handed but....didn't have enough dealers at the beginning of the day. So there was a wait list for late arrivals and rebuys. They eventually lifted the cap so lol at having one in the first place - they had 220 entries
Satellite at 6.15 had 15 seats guaranteed, so not sure what genius only had 10 tables for it! There was a queue 40 people long and when the tournament started there was a 50 person alternate list. It was also supposed to be a rebuy, but if you busted, you had to go to the end of the line to re-buy...whereas previously in the series rebuys got straight back on.
At the break, there was still about 30 alternates who hadn't got a seat, so they were coming in to 12 and sometimes only 6bb stacks.
There was almost no floor staff, alternates didn't have chips but nor did the dealers so the poor alternates who'd already waited two hours for a seat then had to sit down and not play because they didn't have chips
Dealers were totally flustered and the room was full of tense, shouting players etc etc.
Was an epic cluster****
reckon there'll be another one this afternoon - ME has 200 runners, there's 70 for day 2 of the 5k from 4pm and then another mega satellite tonight. Glad I'm not there - am playing Main on Sat, by which time I hope it's calmed down a bit
As an aside, I arrived at 3 to play cash, registered for every game in the casino and didn't get called for any table til I was driving home at 9.30
Well don't even think about going in to play cash today. Tomorrow will be bad too I'd think as there's another satellite on Fri night. Sat should be good though
