I was just at Lumiere last night and its where I primarily play. The game is really juicy and an easy win. However, with stack sizes and betting sizes there is no fold equity there. It's a place where if you hit you can get paid and handsomely but if you're running bad its exaggerated more than normal variance.
I strongly suggest it. The room has been relocated and upgraded. The high hand jackpots are the best in town there.

I can't speak about Lumiere or Hollywood since I don't play at either location.

Ameristar is a very nice room since its relocation to the other end of the casino. 1/3 games have plenty of fish and there seem to be multiple tables per day at any given time, even more so on the weekends. High hand bonuses are decent (but not as good as Lumiere's, as King said), and you can earn two $15 food vouchers a day for every 4 hours you play. And if I recall correctly, rake is 10% up to $4, plus $1 for the BBJ.

Going to Vegas in a few weeks and was thinking of trying to leave my car in one of the casino garages and just Uber over to airport and Uber back when I get back instead of paying for 5 or 6 days of airport parking. Would Ameristar or Hollywood be a better bet of no one noticing a car hasnt moved in a week? Thanks.

Ameristar Casino St. Charles

$1/3 NL Crazy Pineapple

Going to try and make this a monthly game if we get decent turnout (first Saturday of each month).

Hollywood had 39 players for 3 games plus waitlist for 4/8 LO8 on Sunday. The games were very good. All the games were must moves which was smart on Hollywood’s part. 3rd game broke at about 3ish. 2nd game broke at about 5ish and the main game ran until at least 11. (I left around 8)

Better turnout here than Ameristar. I still wish they went back to $5/$10 w full kill, but I think those days are behind us.

I didn’t know Hollywood spread LO/8. Only ever seen it at Ameristar. I play Hollywood ever week but usually a nights player. I’ve played the Ameriatar game only briefly while waiting for a NLHE or Big O seat to open up.

Anyone know the Lumiere parking situation? I live and play in St Charles but work in the city. Was going to play downtown a week or two ago and called and was told it’s $20 to park there. Surely that’s not the case?

It is but only during cardinals/blues home games. However, they will waive that fee with an upper tier card, or if you go in and earn a set number of points on your card.

I can't imagine people sit there at a 4/8 O8 game and split pots. $5/10 is the absolute minimum that game should even be run at and that's pretty boring too. Wish we could get the 10/20 with a half kill going again, or even a 15/30 HK. O8 is just such a better game than Hold Em in my opinion, it's a shame it never caught on.

Any major changes in the poker room at Ameristar since new ownership? Thanks.

What was the ownership change this time? I missed it. Did ownership change for any of the other casinos?

In general, I have thought that maybe Ameristar's traffic was slowly going down - losing traffic (especially in off peak times) since around the time Denise left. There are times when NO tables are running - that never used to be the case. Likely all going to Hollywood. Not sure of the exact cause though. Maybe someone else can chime in on this.

HPT at Hollywood set a record for entries in the Event 1 satty last night. Also a huge turnout for the morning satty, over 115 players.

Record for event 1, 350.00 2 day 100k gtd is around 800, they are easily projecting over 1k runners for this event. Day 1b today, 1c tomorrow.

This is easily going to be the best HPT in St Louis ever

I played the 7-game mix. Turn out great across the board. Cash games have been really good as well.

Are there still 5/10 (or anything higher) NL games that run regularly at Lumiere?

Did you make the final table? I was in the top 3, curious if you were there.

Need some friendly advice. If u had to choose between ameristar or Hollywood which one would u go to for 1/2-1/3NL? I’m a regular recreational player but I’m from out of town and don’t want to sit with a table full of low limit regulars. Thanks in advance.

It is the Midwest just because they are a reg does not mean they aren't horrible, I would guess Ameristar I never lived in St. Louis but have visited about 15 times.

1-3 at ameristar, 1-2 at hollywood. I prefer hollywood, but both places its mostly all regs. More action at Hollywood usually though.
