Checked out ameristars new poker room and while it's nice it does have a few flaws. It's smaller than the last room having about 12 tables I'm guessing (not a flaw. And this is why they relocated anyway--size reduction). However, there appears to be no drink station within relative proximity to the room. This is especially strange given the revamped deli next door. Also there really is no place to wait for your name to be called outside the room. You pretty much have to mill about a small area. That's just my take on things. Like I said it does look nice
You forgot to mention several things:
1)they aren't giving out the hotdog comp after a couple hours anymore which is meh
2) New tables, chairs, USB ports for every seat that actually work, free wifi
3)cage is in the poker room and stays open the entire time
4) nearest beverage station is a bit of a walk
5) tables are close together so if you're in the back and it's busy, you'll have to squeeze between a couple players
6) tables are wider so for bigger dealers, it's a struggle for him or her to get any chips from the 3 and 8 seats.
7) offering new promotions (see bravo)
8) cocktail waitresses were struggling immensely just to get players their drinks and were just shouting "who had a bud light?!??" at one point on Friday.
9) there are more than 12 tables (they had 15-17 going Friday I believe)
10) the beverage station will be located in the back corner, it just wasn't set up yet
They have a few kinks to get out, but all in all, it looks great and puts the others to shame.
