The east side only happens after good nights at the baccarat table... imo

Way more fish at lumiere imo. Played there saturday during the day and into late afternoon, made about 4 buyins in the 1/3 nl game. I did initially get stacked for a full buyin KK vs AA, but rebought and wound up runnin that **** to like 1800-2000.

A-star is best IMO. 2-5 usually very juicy.

The President doesn't even have a card room anymore, I called them last week and was told the news.

I know the OP was joking when raving about it, but still thought people might want to know. I was in town for work and thought the newish Lumiere room was very nice.

Haven't had much time to play at all lately, but I recently played at Ameristar. First time I'd been there since they redid the room. Thought it was very nice and comfortable. I think the same thing about Lumiere, but the smoke is much worse there than Ameristar, which is a big factor for me. Recognized a lot of faces at the table that used to be Harrah's regulars. Plenty of drunk fish too.

Im confused... Lucere r u saying that u enjoy playing at Ameristar more than lumiere? I really didnt think there would be any drunk fish at A star and there are plenty at Lumiere. IS A Stars 2-5 game really juicy?

For NL, I've only played 1-3 at both places, so I can't comment on the 2-5 game. Also, I was saying I like Ameristar better because of the less smoke there. The game that night did have a constant rotation of drunk fish in it, though you typically see that more at Lumiere.

Yeah def more drunk fish at lumiere... it almost seems too easy, but then u obv take a 250bb beat to some dumbass drunk who then goes on to spew all of ur money to every1 else at the table.

Just saw this thread, I live in the St Louis area, and wanted to check out the new Ameristar tournies, anybody try the 'double' stack tourney yet?
I mostly usually do the Harrah's and Lumiere, Ameristar has an issue with their poker room managers, so I stopped going, or at least used to.

Favorite St Louis Poker Stories:

1. Players Island decides to close their poker room and gives away their $200,000 jackpot in one weekend by paying out $500 to the high hand at each table every hour. Now THAT was a great weekend.

2. President casino on Mississippi River hit by runaway barge and knocked from moorings.

3. Harrahs opens poker room in 1997 and closes it a month later.

4. feel free to add to list

There was an old story about a player a long time ago back on the old Station St. Charles boat that was playing poker and he busted out. He asked the table where the closest bank was, they told him and he got up and left.

A couple of hours later he comes back and starts playing again. A little time passes and the cops come up to the room. Apparently the player busted out then went and robbed the bank to get his next buy in for the game. I heard this story from the day one staff from St. Charles/Ameristar.

There was a story long ago also about when the huge seven card stud bad beat down at the President casino where two players had the same exact straight flush one in clubs one in hearts and split the pot. I don't know the odds of that but It has to be pretty long.

I stayed at Lumiere in October and the action really wasn't all that great. Action at the Ameristar was better. I sat in the most aggro 1/3 game there that I have ever played in.

If the President closed its room, I guess Lumiere is getting that business?

You guys remember that story about the guys playing the big like 30/60 or 50/100 mixed game at Harrahs? One of the guys was stuck big, lost a big pot and Chris Fergusoned his cards at the dealers face. The card ended up slicing his eye or some ****.

Edit: Lost 2 buy ins at Lumiere Last night
