Hey all, a friend and I will be in Miami July 4th-7th. Looking to do a mix of partying and poker. Any reccs for where to stay, and what rooms to try? I'm looking for NLHE games on the order of $1/$2 to $2/$5.

From what I've heard hard rock is the best, but staying there is expensive, and on top of that seems far from the party action (south beach?) which would make travel to/from difficult and expensive?

I'm heading to S. Florida to play cash during the Seminole Hard Rock Open August 6.

I read through the thread and I saw the recommended areas were Ft. Lauderdale & near Gulfstream, can you guys give input or explain the prods/cons? I prefer to to a short term rental over hotel living, any recommendations?

What are the best locations besides the hard rock to catch deepstacked/uncapped 5/10 or 2/5?

Do any current/past grinders want to share their opinions about the MSNL games?

I am flying in from CA, how hard will it be for me to obtain 420 supplies for my downtime?

So, where did you end up staying and playing? How'd you do?

Coming to Florida for the Hard Rock open sometime around Aug 6th, would like to find a room to rent for the month. I'm quiet and keep to myself, would love to be able to bring my dog (18lb mutt) who is completely house trained and rarely barks.

28/m, will be playing all the events except the main and 2/5, 5/10. I am quiet and laid back, rarely drink, never "party". 420 friendly/preferred

I'm also planning to fly down on the 6th or 7th. and will be playing most of the events for the first week and a half. Been looking at a few rentals, wouldn't mind splitting one with you. Will you have a car?

Still looking for a place to stay for the Hard Rock series that starts on the 7th... Anyone have an extra room or want to split a place? Trying to avoid paying 100% of the car rental/apartment since we're all going to the same place every day.

Looking at playing here for a few months, just did a stint in Vegas, how does Florida compare?

Would love some views of people who have lived in both areas. High rake, no comps and the fact you need a car is putting me off a bit but I heard the games are good and living in Florida is better than in Vegas.

Thanks.

Hey guys just a warning. A friend of mine met a girl at the bar at the Hollywood hard rock and thought he was going home with her until she drove him into an ambush. 4-5 guys robbed and beat him. Be careful around the rock I'd hate so see stuff like this happen to others.

and another warning: The new poker room at the Hialeah Track/Casino looks nice, feels posh --- BUT, from my experience, if you are female or non-latin or do not play 2/5 or better you will be treated as disposable -- in contrast if you are not two out of the three, you can apparently get away with bellowing epithets across the room and starting multiple fights (my experience there was so horrid I am contemplating appropriate legal action). Oh, and eat before you head there or after you leave if it's a busy time -- food waits were over two hours for godawful over-priced food (food waits for those in the designated "high roller" area, were, by contrast, just minutes -- and they actually got the food they ordered rather than cheap substitutes). Don't count on your comps while you are playing to grab a snack/food whatever -- they don't make them available until the next day (which is pretty much when your food arrives after ordered -- so it almost works out...).

I'm spending a few nights in the Fort Lauderdale area and I would like to play as much live PLO (1/2-5/5) as possible.

Where is the most consistent action, do games run every night?
~What time of day does the game start?

Hollywood hard rock has all types of PLO action. 5/5 may be the lowest limit they're offering but there's been a ton of PLO going bc of the big tourneys this week.

Don't know anything about Miami but coming down for week of Halloween and staying at the Flamingo (?condo building) likely. Where is the closest place to play to there?

Hialeah Park or Magic city. I'd suggest Hialeah.....just opened 2 weeks ago and games are very soft.

Miami Jai-Alai is closer than Hialeah and nothing, I mean nothing, could possibly be softer.

At what limits? Cause the 2-5 deepstack "capped" at 1500 is playing like a 1-2 game during the moneymaker days. Capped in quotes cause I've seen ppl buy in for 2k and up.
