I'll be flying down to Ft. Lauderdale from Detroit this weekend to play at the Hard Rock for a couple days. How man players does the Saturday $110 tournament usually get? They advertised a $10,000 guarantee but I was curious if they get many more than 100 or so. Looking forward to playing some 2/5 too. Thanks

Hey all.

I'm on a quick stop over in Miami this Friday & staying right at the airport.

What room is best bet right around the airport for 1/2 or 2/5? Walking distance would be ideal, but happy to jump in a cab.

Ideal scenario would be to play a 7pm nightly tourney (or similar) and then grind cash until I fly the next morning.

Thx all...

Miami Jai-Alai is even closer.

They have nightly tourneys at 7pm and midnight, so if the OP gets knocked out of the 7pm early, he can then play cash until midnight and then try again.

OP, if you want to play during the day, Jai-Alai gives out $1000/hr for high hands between 11am - 5pm today and tomorrow. They usually break that down to $500 every 30 minutes or $250 every 15 minutes, but it changes every so often and I'm not sure how they're doing it this month.

We are leaving South Florida, breaking a 1 year lease. We were originally going to sublet our apartment and it fell apart and we don't have time to keep trying so we are just trying to sell all of our furniture ASAP and cheap. We were very clean, non smoking, no pets and all of the stuff is like new. I can pm a link to all the pictures on craigslist.

If anyone knows anyone looking for anything, couches, TV, bed, kitchen stuff, etc, please send a message. We live in South Broward, directly between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami.

Thanks

I'm buying a vacation house/condo and looking for advice on where would be ideal for beach and poker action. Figured this is a good place to check.

Thanks.

I had a 1 night layover in Miami and chose Hard Rock. Saw they had a$160 re-entry T . I asked the cashier who was taking T buyin s what the rake was or how much $$ went into the prize pool. She was annoyed by my ? After checking w another cashier said they had no idea , I need to ask a super. I walked over to a gentleman behind a podium that called himself a super and he was not annoyed, but also didn't know ? Wtf . I was instructed to check with the tourney director who informed me 125 to prize pool and 35 $ miscellaneous fees . I blew 2 buy ins , the last when my K 10 got cracked all on pre by AK .
Off to cash . Had better results in 2/5 deep, although this was more luck , ( my great hands coming when someone else made something) the game was not really good. 1 fish, 3 solid Finns and a few nits .

A few of the rooms have gotten better about answering these kinds of questions. But Hard Rock people still believe players should just STFU and consider it a privilege to play in their crappy room.

Hi guys, I got some paid time up racked up at work and looking to get out of this cold MI weather so I'll be taking a drive down to FL in the next month and a half to check out the poker scene as I might be relocating down here to grind next winter. I see that the WPT will be at the hard rock Hollywood April 10-16 you think that would be the best time to come and grind and see how I like the action for a week. (I play mostly 2-5nl) thinking about arriving on a Thur and staying until Tue so I can get the weekend action in too.

Weekends are great, especially late Friday and Saturday, after tourists get hammered and then want to sit down and give you their money. I especially like the 21-25 year olds that can't handle their liquor and think they are gods gift to poker.

Played at Dania for their opening and $4 max rake is true, what they aren't telling you is that their jackpot drop is up to $3/hand so there's still $7/hand being taken but now that starts at ~$36 and not ~$46.

Granted, they may have some good promos to make it appealing to play there, but this post was misleading enough to warrant my response.

The rake at Dania is taken as follows:
$1.00 when the pot is $5.00
$1.00 when the pot is $15.00
$1.00 when the pot is $25.00
$1.00 when the pot is $35.00

The Jackpot is take as follows:
$2.00 when the pot is $10.00
$1.00 when the pot is $20.00

The high hand jackpots for Hold'em require BOTH hole cards to be played, and starts at Aces full of Kings or better. There are no roll overs on the high hand jackpots.

That is some expensive poker, even when compared to the high rakes of other Florida Poker Rooms.

Too expensive for this "grinder", even with the free $25.00 FSP for joining their players club.

Thanks for the FSP, and good luck to you. IMHO, With that rake, you're going to need all the luck you can get.
