All the threads about SkyCity Auckland seem to be long dormant and since I'm making more and more regular visits there, I thought it'd be good to get a regular thread going. Granted, I don't think there's too many Kiwi's around but it can't hurt to try can it?

Any regulars to SkyCity Auckland here?

Oh that's good to hear!

I'm normally on the $50/$150 tables. Yet to play a tourney. Any chance I might've seen you on a cash table before?

$50/$150 NL bro.

The main game they spread there is a $2/$3 with $50-$150 buy-in. A $5/$5 runs sometimes with a $500-$2000 buy-in. There is also a $100-$300 buy-in game but that seems quite irregular.

Rake is 10% capped at $12.

Hey, Yeah have played the 50-150 tables a few times. Going to try and play a little more cash over the coming months. Like the new room, Think the cardroom is run pretty badly at times compared to others ive played in, has the potential to be very good but just doesnt live up to that just yet.

Their website doesn't mention the rake; can someone please provide an update of their commission?

Still 50-150 NLHE, & 300-500 on the PLO?

Is the Auckland casino the most popular/successful poker room in NZ, at the moment?

Spent last weekend at Sky City Auckland. It runs a few tables of 2/4 with a max buy in of $300!

the rake is 10% capped at $15!!

The players are generally tight with the odd bad player.

the 5/5 rarely gets up, even at weekends and breaks early. The rake is capped at $15 but the buy in is up to $1000. There was one whale on the table and the rest were tight/solid.

I was supposed to be there for a week or more but left as all in all the games are terrible because of the above.

I played sky city Auckland a few times last week. The $1-3 game is $80-300 BI, rake is 10% capped at $13 but there is no tipping the dealers and it's also "turbo" meaning each player has 15 seconds to act. They also had a couple of $2-5 tables and nightly tournaments ranging from $70-$200, usually 25-40 players each. Dealers were friendly but a little slow, didn't always recognize winning hands and had a few misdeals. Players were overall friendly and seemed mostly recreational/newbies.

Thx for the update.

Gonna be there, in 2 weeks time, and have 5 days to kill.

Do the games run every day ? From what time ?

Any idea if there are player comps/discounts .. rooms etc ?

Played here yesterday.

Cash games start at 5pm .. A US$1.5/3.5 equivalent.

Buy-in, 200-500 max.

Ist hand, at table. UTG raises 25, mid-pos, re-raises to 125, UTG re-raises all-in, called off.

UTG 88
MP JJ

Thought game was well run, and a 10/25 opened an hr later, 40 people played a $35 re-buy tounry, which started about 8pm.

There are some player comps, but havent got details. Will be here for 4 more days, so will try post more.

At my table, seemed like 5-6 regs, which were avg- 1 or 2 good. Couple of spots.

Played 2 days, lost 3 buy-ins .. which prob says a lot as to how poor my poker is, not how strong the room was.

There are promotions. For 25 players points, on Valentines night, play between 7pm and 11pm, u got a free room.

In 2 weeks, similar play, gets towels, worth $100.

Played a $110 tourny .. buy-in till level. Starting stack 10k chips, 100-200 blinds, till level 5.

A new guy entered on level 4. I had raised flop, with 9s9c, he looked at one card, and raised all-in. I felt I had to call. He turned over As8s. Flop 10s 5s Qc, turn Qd, river 2s, so, didnt get to see how strong the tourny pool was ....
