A lot less than the last one they held in January. I put in 5 bullets and the people I stake put in about 25 additional ones. The structure was worse than just about any $500 I've ever played so I won't be returning. Way below industry standards. I don't even mind fast structures but with so much extra rake coming out for PPC packages it's hard to justify

I was just curious if anyone on here has played at The Silks lately? If so, I'd be curious to hear what it's like in there these days? I've heard from a couple people that it's somewhat slow, and that's disappointing to hear, as when I was last there (granted, that was now a little over 4 years ago), it was a great room that was fairly busy and was basically full of a bunch of great people, dealers and players. It has a soft spot in my heart, though, so I may be a little biased. I've been thinking about the place lately, so I was just curious if anyone on here still plays there these days. If so, it would be great to hear some feedback about what the room and the people in it are like these days. Thanks!

Although it's slower than it was 4 years ago, I find it to still be a decent room with the local/neighborhood feel. There's still a few decent regs and the people who were terribad 4 years back mostly went broke. I enjoy playing here on occasion and plan to frequent the venue much more as I am moving less than 2 miles away in about a month.

Thanks for replying to my post! I was discouraged to see that I hadn't gotten any replies in several days, so it made me think that maybe the room was even slower than I thought it had become. I'm curious, did you possibly play there regularly back about 5 or 6 or 7 years ago? I dealt there from December 2007 until March 2012, on the night shift, so I'm curious if I know you? FYI, I'm a guy, who was in his mid-thirties back then, and I loved to joke around and have fun and talk trash to/with the players, whenever the table environment welcomed it.

Edit: When is the last time you actually played at The Silks? And do you play much/at all at Derby Lane or the Tampa Hard Rock? If so, are Derby and the Hard Rock much busier than The Silks these days? I often think about trying to move back out to the Tampa area, and I would love to be able to get my job back dealing at The Silks, but I don't know if that's realistic. So, I've been trying to think of other potential options for dealing jobs in the area.

Hard Rock is the busiest in the area; Derby the second busiest. Silks has a lot less traffic than either.

Yep, I remember you by name, and remember you leaving to go out to... I think Arizona. I played mostly 1/1 and 1/2 back then, and sucked. Now I played mostly 1/2 and sometimes 1/3 or 2/5. Still suck.

Hope all has been well for you man.

But if I were looking for a job, I'd probably be looking at one of the other locations. The Hard Rock is opening their new room in January of this year, so on top of them already attracting the majority of business, I think that will bring even more excitement.

Lol I don't think the PPC will be running anywhere

Silks already posted on Twitter and Facebook 2 days ago they aren't running the PPC in January. Probably cancelled as soon as they heard of the lawsuit.

How's the action been lately? Do they still play PLO on Tuesdays? Any chance that NL 2/5 will get going through the week. What time would it get going if so? I'm down in Clearwater this week and part of next.

2/5 barely runs. Having said that, I would be extremely happy to organize a regular 2/5nl+ game.

Saw they started a $200 Monday night tourney over there, that getting any action? Pondering giving the old Silks a try if it's getting enough players....

They could really take advantage of their position of running 1/3 games as opposed to 1/2 at THR. Alas, doesn't seem like they do so and are missing a good opportunity to get more traffic for people who aren't quite rolled for a 2/5 game 1k max at HR but would much rather play at better structured game than the 1/2 at HR. I know promos at HR negatively impact this potential but from a game point of view it's the one thing they offer that could bring in more traffic and then get a couple 2/5 games on a reg Basis. IMO they should consider running some type of something to get 1/3 traffic picked up. IME, my limited time playing 1/3 in the afternoon has been a better game than 2/5 afternoon at HR.

The double straddle in that game is ludicrous and kills that game IMO

It's not used often IME ~60hrs. Still think my points are valid and it's a better game than HR 1/2 even with the double straddle

lol sample size but i've played it 3x and every time the double straddle was on at least a third of the time. combine that with half the table buying in for much less than the cap and the game was very meh.

Anyone played here since re-opening? Is the action still as great as it was in the before-time?

Also, what's the mask/plexiglass situation?

8 handed. Have to wear a mask. No plexiglass. Action seems good just not as many tables running. Even the Hard Rock doesn't fill up. Just how it is during these odd times.

Played at the room on 11/11/21. $5+2 rake. (3) 1/3 games, (2) 1/2 games. 8 handed, which I don't necessarily care for given people's propensity to walk from the table and make track bets, schmooze around the room, waiting on new player(s) etc. Game is frequently 6-7 handed in a high rake environment.

For a $2 promo drop, the promotions are not very good IMO.

Is this room just slowly dying? When I check poker atlas it’s usually slow and not many tables running. Are any days their best days and busy?
