Mikes, is it true that a bunch of the floor people are leaving/left and that they are not replacing them? Is this a sign of the future of the room? The floor person I talked to last night said they were short on floors. Why wouldn't they hire some?

This is probably the best way to do it for now. I do think the game would get filled quicker because I do notice that a lot of 1/2NL players are afraid of 2/5NL. They also wouldnt know just how big a 1/2 PLO game really is so for a little deception in order to build some interest in the game I think this would be the best way, but start the list however you like imo.

I doubt it will be timed, maybe you can argue for each PLO round to be timed, but people still wanna be part of the famous bad beat lol.

Take some initiative, Rob! Lets come up with a solid starting time for the game! Sometime before the 7pm gets going or after 8pm are probably the most ideal times...

I don't think so, so I wont bother...the players have certainly noticed the trouble the floors have with having to do some extreme multi-tasking. I think we would all agree the room has tons of potential but this lack of floor people is really hindering its growth.

On a lighter note, who am I going to see Saturday? Who is going to get their name on this NL/PLO mix?

I would be down but I got a few fantasy football drafts this weekend so I won't be able to make it down there.

I think it will, actually I am not going to stop pushing it until it does. I think we all know that PLO is the future. If we can establish something at the SB, that puts us miles ahead of every room in the city as far as PLO goes. Its a market that nobody has really went with yet except for the 2/5 borgata game.

Rod, can you talk to the floor (whoever it will be on Saturday night) BEFORE Saturday at 9pm? This way they are not blindsided by the idea of a mixed game. Here is what I propose:

1/2 2-5 NL Holdem
1/2 1-2 PL Omaha High

Games switch each time a new dealer sits down.

Normal rake - 10% up to $4, and no bad beat during Omaha hands.

The only thing I'm not sure of would be the mix/max buyins due to the different blind structures. I would propose $100 min $400 max to kind of hit the middle of the road, but whatever the floor decides is fine. I am against >$500 max however.

This all seems reasonable (and legal), right?

As fas as legal with the ccc idk what you can do as far as changing the min max. I will do my best with everything else.

I get off at 830, I shud be there by 930 ish. We only had 2 names last night, floor was accommodating and called it several times for me.
Rod, legal with ccc min max changing is fine, as long as u dont go to uncap game as far as I know. We got Taj and Borg to change min max for us for PLO and we all know problems Borg has had so I dont think they would do anything risky.

broke at 3 am. played 8 or 9 handed most of time... got down to 6 then 5 handed and we broke at 3 am. So ran from 930 to 3am. Got a couple of onlookers.

FWIW, I tried to talk up switching my 1/2 table to a NLHE/PLO mix on Friday night but none of the players expressed any interest.

and sunday night too. I left at about 12:30 am and it was still running. I finally dealt it! A few pot size mistakes by me, but overall I thought I did a decent job for dealing my first non-holdem game ever. It was a really good time tonight guys. Looking forward to making this a regular game for the room. Doesn't look like it is going to go next weekend as some people wont be around.

i played saturday, it was a good time. i got there around 12 i think and it broke around 3. was trying to talk myself out of super tilt the whole time after folding quad tens then i played too tight when it got short handed and then the game broke. so it goes. will be around to get it going again soon, maybe try for the 1/2 plo 2/5 he mix next time

after it broke no 2/5 nlhe running so i played 1/2 for a couple hours and within 5-6 orbits hit quads, 2 flopped nut straights, 2 sets, and then KK KK AA back to back. loved that deck.

first time playing in the new room and except the long lines at cashier, i enjoyed everything about it. spacious, good dealers, good floor.

Wait, what? If you never ever fold quads it is probably no worse than a small mistake. Maybe only if there is a 4 card SF on board (in HE).

There has to be a good story behind that fold.
