My nephew played last week (I think Tuesday) and said they had a 25/50/75 limit horse cash table going that night. I started going back to the tank about a year ago and never remember that spreading. Tell me he's not an idiot (he just turned 21 so it's possible) and I should consider setting some $$$ aside to play it next time it goes!

Tues has been 1/2 PLO 200-1k buyin and the generic 1/2 NL. They played 8/16 HORSE tonight that got shortened to just HOE. I donated and left a few minutes ago. I don't think I was there last tues but I would have heard about any game out of the norm.

Do you think it might have been 5/10 limit game?
I know they also get a 8/16 HORSE game sometimes but I doubt 25/50/75.

They would obviously spread it if the players wanted, but I haven't seen a limit Holdem game there outside of HORSE nights as part of the regular 8/16 days. Now, there was a limit Holdem/OmahaHi tournament sometime last week. Maybe he saw that tourney at some point with high blind levels or something? I dubno

I actually kind of figured that he probably was mistaking a tourney for a cash game but just wanted to make sure the action wasn't getting that big and I was missing out on my favorite game east of the mississippi. I sure wish Ohio would get on the Badugi and pot limit seven card stud hi/lo boat but I've only seen them in Vegas and California unfortunately.

Greg Raymer was just there and I believe he enjoys a good game of Badugi. Would have been a good time to get a game of it off.

They will pretty much spread any game or limit that the players are ready to play.

I don't know him, is he there a lot? What's he look like? The only guy I know there that ever wants to play is a asian guy from Cali or Washington state but I don't think he has a Westernized name so doubt it's the same dude.

Real quick, is the age minimum 18 or 21 or none at all? My daughter wants to play this summer but isn't old enough for the casino. My nephew said it was 21 but I haven't ever seen it written anywhere. I definitely think it's a slightly older crowd than the casino which I like personally so maybe it just doesn't come up that often.

Greg Raymer won the 2005 or 6 WSOP. He's "The Fossilman". If you've watched any televised poker, you'd likely know who he is. It's fine if you don't know him. He was just in town for the 25K guarantee last week.

It's okay to talk about famous people. I think he even posted in this thread a while back when he was here a year or two ago.

You'd have to talk to the owner or the managers about the age thing. I don't know what the rules are, but I'm pretty sure there have been a select few that have been able to play. Don't quote me on that though.

Raymer won in 2004 the last series played exclusively at the Horseshoe downtown. When the WSOP was still owned by the Binion family. He followed it up in 2005 by finishing in the 20's.

Nice guy.

I joined a few weeks ago and I got ID'd to make sure I was 21. Nice (?) problem to have when you're more than 10 years older than that.

I do understand the rules about not posting names but Raymer was an advertised attraction for the club while he played there. It was an arrangement he and the club had.

Pretty sure they allow 18+ at the Tank but you can call them or check their website to make sure. sharktankpokerclub.com 614-459-2678

Sorry man I was just trying to cover my ass With the mods I've been on a short leash for suggesting they should allow smoking im the casino and giving ways that it could be done in the Hollywood thread. I didn't know he was a paid attraction when I posted it.

Thanks for clearing that up though, I just assumed he was busto or something like that moneymaker guy. Didn't know why he was playing a 25k after winning the main event unless he really liked the tank which I wouldn't fault the guy for!

Two questions
1) Have any of the guaranteed tournaments had overages lately? I have never seen one at the tank but haven't watched that closely.

2) how are the non-1/2 games? Same regs play them? I know 1/2 plays huge so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for them to move up. Are the stacks as deep in the bigger games?

3) Do Justin and Kevin still work/play there? Haven't seen either of the yay-hoos in my last couple visits. Usually can get one of them going about something for some entertaining converstion.

Kevin and Justin still play/work there. They also talk about Kevin cage fighting a 80lbs wolf in a fight to the death. I pick the wolf

Have heard the 2/5 NL gets going twice a week as well as HORSE which sometimes breaks down to a LO8 game. Also heard about a 5/5 NL that goes on Wednesdays but I am never up there on Weds. And of course stacks are always bigger at The Tank.

I used to play there a lot, but stopped going once the casino opened. I've grown seriously tired of playing at the casino, and my game has suffered because of it. Probably my least favorite place to play poker, yet I still go there because I live close.

How's the cash game action been there lately? I had heard that the constant nightly flow of multiple $1-$2 games are gone, but do they still get several tables going on the weekends?

It's not 6/7 tables like it was before the casino opened but there are several nights a week they get 3 tables of cash games going. It's picked back up considerably.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to have to get back up there soon. It always was one of my favorite places to play, and the action was always good.

The club is winding down on their WSOP Main event seats.
Still running good tournaments, some with dinner provided.

Yep, game was good, 20-40 HORSE and it went all night and was a lot of fun. Eleven different people played in all and others expressed interest. We are going to try to play again next Wed. and, more ambitiously, maybe weekly until the WSOP.
