Surprisingly, this place still gets pretty good tournament traffic, and they have a nice schedule of 8 / 16 limit games that often get going with 2 tables. These will usually run until at least 3:00am. The 1-2 NL game does not run every night, but sometimes they get some outrageously deep-stacked games with drunktastic action. (They use a 70% max buyin rule for NL.)

8/16 HORSE on Wednesdays and Sundays starting around 6:00pm or 6:30pm, has been filling up quickly lately.

8/16 OE on Thursdays around 4pm (alternating Omahia Hi-Lo and Stud Hi-Lo)

8/16 Omaha Hi-Lo on Fridays around 4pm... lots of action in this one.

Some of the dealers are still pretty weak at hand reading, especially Omaha Hi-Lo, but generally the games are well run and it's a fun group of players with lots of different playing styles.

Since this thread died for a while, I guess I'll toss out a reminder that cash games are rake-free after a $20 session fee good for the whole night.

+1 to everything above - very good $8/16 mixed games action here with friendly and fun players and dealers.

Looks like they have a $40 buyin NL "super stack" with 10,000 in chips starting at 7pm, with late registration / re-entry until 8pm. I don't really play their tournaments so I can't tell you much about the entry fee / blind structure, but I do know you can usually pay an extra $5 or so for "dealer appreciation," which also gives you some extra chips.

I don't think they have any limit games scheduled, but there's always a chance 1-2 NL will get rolling, especially as people start to bust out of the tournament. I'd recommend giving them a call that evening and they will tell you what is running.

May have to try this place out soon. I've about had it with Hollywood Cbus. Where exactly is it located? Also are the dealers allowed to play there, heard they were...kinda shady if it is actually true? Also is it pretty safe?

Place is in a very safe location (located at a Bethel Rd shopping center near BW3s) with a lot of solid nearby dining options. Friendliest poker room I've ever played in with superb dealers and a fun player pool. I'm far from a shill- I just like this room a lot.

Dealers do play in the games occasionally but there hasn't been any issues with that - I wasn't ok with that for awhile but have since around. There were some issues related to dealers before the casino opened but they're long resolved.

Easy to get to (315-270) they have the spring series running today and tomorrow.

I haven't been there in about 2 years but place is ran fantastically, Joe takes care of his players. I wouldn't worry too much about off duty dealers playing, they have no real advantage that makes it taboo.

Considering return to the Tank for the ME Saturday, promised the woman a fancy dinner. FML

The shark tank offers the best Columbus has tp offer in terms of poker. No rake, good dealers, and a social atmosphere. Casino gives nothing back to players, they just take. Tank offers snacks, beverages, and no pit games. Action is phenomenal at times too

How deep do the 1/2 games run?
How safe is it? I was at a club in Cincy and it got robbed, scariest thing ever!

played there several dozen times, most volatile situation was where some drunk came in and started a scene. as safe as it could reasonably be imo.

Yes, his name is JD. I understand he bubbled the ME, or was right on the bubble. Don't know the full story.

Shark Tank had a 10k guaranteed that started at 2pm today, still running and according to their website there are 65 players there.

Should carry over some good action into the cash games... Fridays they usually have an 8 / 16 Omaha 8 or Better game if it gets enough players. It has been making a comeback over the last several weeks, pretty good action.

The place has really shaped up, I think I prefer it to the casino. The bad elements are all history. I actually think it's a more straight up game than the casino due to all the player collusion I've been hearing about and witnessing in the evening 1/2 games at Hollywood.

I don't know how anyone trying to make money can beat snacks and hours of poker for 20 bucks vs 6-7 per winning hand at the casino. I know I used to be a hater on this place but i think I've seen the light.
