Like 50 dealers quit or moved in the last few months and they havnt hired 1 dealer since. They just were not making as much as they were accustomed to a year a ago.

Most of the lists are under control now.
Jackpot is 556k.

I'll be coming over tomorrow night from Orlando (free room there) and Friday (free room at Comfort Suites, which has hooked up with them), plus $100 in free play for my birthday this month. Play the 1/3. So basically free rolling first two buy ins, imo.

I've only played the 1/3 since the limits have changed, and haven't touched the 1/2. I noticed someone in this thread said that the 1/2 is now profitable if you plan to stay at the table and amass a large stack. I plan to grind out the January promotion tournament ticket in one sitting with an almost busto bankroll. Can this be accomplished at 1/2?

Gotta play for 20 hours, right? That's 600 hands, roughly.

Don't play 'em all.

30 hands an hour is 9/hr in BBs, times 20 hours is 180 bucks... so youd profit by like 70 for a 250 ticket? In 20 hours of work that is.... 3.50/hr. gogogadget foldalot

Give the guy credit for winning a few of 'em along the way.

I was there over the weekend. This may be old news to some, but to anyone new going there for the jackpot, it is good to know. My wife was playing the 1/2 a couple tables behind me for several hours that night. After she went bust, she come over to watch me for a while. Her and I were talking after I folded, and we were told by the dealer we could not do this. I pointed out I did not have a hand, to which he repeated himself. After a couple more hands, he tells her she has to leave and cannot watch. This started a discussion around the table as to what he was talking about. She did not leave and the dealer restated after a couple more hands. I told him to get a floor. The lady who showed up was very rude, with little social skills. She repeated the policy and was rude to my wife. I politely told her what I thought of the policy, racked up, and left.

If you plan to partake in the attempt to win the bbj, be sure to leave the significant other at home unless they play and don't expect to see much of them during the time you are there.

Rule is no spectating. And its a good rule.
This room is way to busy to have people hanging around looking over peoples shoulders, etc.
Send here to the slots when she busts or give her some reload money.

There was no need for rudeness, but for as long as I remember, Hard Rock has been very consistent with this policy. Nobody can stand around the tables to watch or otherwise.

Cluster here. 50 people on the 1/2 list. I asked to go on the 5-10-20 list (13 people now) and they put me on a new 50-100 list, lol

I concur. That room is not setup for railbirds.

OTOH, not the least bit surprised that THR floor was rude and alienated a customer.

I was there at 9:30 this morning. Conked 80 off in 1-2 and another 75 in 1-3 and realized not my day. I might try again tonight or tomorrow. I liked the game I just had second holdings each time. Just my day to run up against it.

I was all over the place. 4 different tables in the course of 3 hours.

This is what always happens at the THR. I put myself on the 2/5, 5/10 and 5/10/20 list. I get called for my 2/5 and play 1 hand. The 5/10/20 then gets called so I leave to go to that. They call 14 people to the game. Me and one other person show up. So they say, alright, we'll just make it a 5/10 game since there was a full 5/10 list. They call another 8 people for a 5/10. 2 people show up. So I get put back on a 2/5, lol. Good times.

Why not stay at your 2/5nl when they try to open a 5/10nl and just lock up a seat with your players card under the rail on the new table.
Then just keep playing 2/5nl until enough players show up at the new table and then switch.

Because I'm dumb and have confidence in a game starting when there's 14 people on the list.

Didn't really matter anyway, I got put right back on a 2/5 w/no wait.

Table 46, right? I was on the table right next to you, 36. Pretty sure that table was jinxed. Couldn't get a 5/10/20 going, so they switched it to a 5/10, then couldn't get that going, so they switched it to a 1/2 game, then when they got that going it was 5 handed forever despite a huge list.
