The 2/2 has a $5 rock and is raked at up to $5/pot plus $2 jackpot drop. It's high-hand eligible (you must hit it on the flop). Buyins $200-$1,000

The 5/5 has a $10 rock and is time-raked at $8 every 30 minutes (or $10 every 30 minutes if you're seated in the private room). It is not high-hand eligible and buyins are $500-$2,500

Heading down next week and will be in FL for work. Gonna catch some action for hopefully a few sessions. Played here a few years ago and loved it. How's the NL action been down there?

Was there last week. Played 2-5 3 evenings, Monday thru Wednesday and it was….okay. First night decent, then next couple days some pros for sure. Wednesday day at one point I had 4 of 8 pros.

My first time there so no perspective on today vs past. Action over the 3 days compared to other poker I’d say a little better than average.

If you play 1/2 instead of 2/5 you will sometimes run into a table with a few people who know what they are doing but 50-50 especially on weekends it's a splashy high variance good game.

Thanks for the info. Played 1/2 last time I was down and had great action. Will have to check out both the 1/2 and 2/5.

If playing 1/2 make sure to check which days are higher high hand days. You might have to table change a few times to get a good game. Some tables are just a limp fest due to high hand promo and passive play. Regulars who have accumulated 15 hours get double whatever the high hand promo is and weekends have been difficult to navigate due to that $2,000 promo. So change tables until you get a good one.

Two months ago, I went to HR Tampa with $500 and went on a UTH heater and cash around 4k. Since then they have offered me 3 free nights, 300 resort credit, 150 free play.
They listed 4 date ranges in order for me to use this bonuses, my first question does that mean I can use all of the offers on 4 separate occasions? like 4x on each offer?

Also any creative ways to use the resort credit? Not big on spas or massages that don't involve reach-a-rounds, is it true there is a store there to use it? Can you use it on food?

Will be coming Fri/Sat this weekend and didn't see a lot of good info on their website about how to use the promos..

Thank you for the feedback

Well, played 3 sessions at the SHR while I was in Florida.

Pretty dead 1/2 games late on last Tuesday. Ended up +$150. Got into a 2/5 game Saturday that turned out to be really good. One other good player at the table for the whole 6 hour session and I ran into him catching river spots to beat me in a couple hands.

Then what I'd assume was a local pro sat down and I stacked her when I went nut flush over 2nd nut flush for about a $2500 pot. Ended up +2300 on the night.

Gave back a buy in at a not too great table the next night. Just was trying to force things but overall finished the trip +1450. Not bad at all.

Hey, was looking to play some of the events in 2022 WPT Tampa in late August/early September. Was wondering if anyone knows when buy-ins will be available to purchase and if you can do that ahead of time without being there in person (coming in from the D.C. area for Labor Day weekend)?

Im trying to find out what Tampa Hard Rock offers for comp dollars for 1-2 NL and 2/5 NL. Id also like to know if the casino has lounges that regularly poker players have access to. Hotel room offers for poker regulars?

It's been awhile since I've been there but my recollection was this:

$1/hr comps in 1/2 NL
$2/hr comps in 2/5 NL

You'll be hard pressed getting room offers if you only play poker. You'll get them if you play casino house-edge games enough, but you'll likely spend more than just getting a room yourself (and their rooms are pricey)

This room (or any rooms in the area) spread games bigger than 5-10 regularly?

Yes it's open, games are right there to see on Bravo. Be advised the poker snack bar is closed. Food court is open.

Anyone still wearing masks here? Might get a chance to play at Tampa Hard Rock in a couple weeks and was just curious. There’s still maybe 20% of players wearing masks in northern California, but I’m kind of assuming that they are all but gone in Florida.

Haven’t played Tampa but have played HR Hollywood. Masks were rare but no prob if you chose to wear one. Won’t see many but never saw a prob for anyone choosing to wear either.

Yea there are quite a few players that wear masks, maybe 1-2 ppl per table. Every once in a while some drunk douche maga type will sit down and needle them though.

Very few (like less than 5%). You will maybe see 1 or 2 at a table some time but most tables have zero. If they are wearing a mask then they are never bluffing.

Anyone have recommendations for living arrangements for a visit down there? Cheap/safe local hotels, airbnb, other?

Is Big Easy not too far away? Looking to play plo at Hard Rock and there as well. Any tips for visitors about the plo down there? Thanks!

Which HR do you intend to play at? I thought Big Easy was located in or near Hollywood FL by that HR iow. The guitar hotel near Ft. Lauderdale.

If that is the Big Easy you refer to, then first it is definitely too far from Tampa, like about 4hrs. Even if you mean the HR in Hollywood, there is an issue with the Big Easy since afaik it has no hotel.

Oops wrong HR. Thanks.

I’ve heard mixed information about signing up for games, but it appears that you can’t use Bravo and you can’t really call in because they don’t answer the phones. Can any current players confirm?

I've never understood why Bravo doesn't have online sign-up like Poker Atlas. It certainly makes things easier for both the players and the room staff. But yes, THR is first come first serve. (BTW, even if someone answers the phone there, it doesn't matter. They don't take call-ins.)
