I agree, $15 is attainable, maybe more if you select games.
My point is, and always has been, is what we are playing against...
I am a number cruncher, I will put the numbers down ( facts ), you tell me where I am wrong

Assuming 30 hands per hour, (ok,may be 27 or 32 ),
30 hands X 7 (5+2 ) = 210 an hour coming off table...

10 handed, means YOU are paying $21 an hour to sit in that chair....

9 handed about $23

8 handed, about $26

7 handed, $30

6 handed, $35

I like 6 handed, very fast, more aggression,
Bottom line is it costs you more per hour to play

And that's without the tip,
Another average $1,
That makes $240 vs 210

I don't know the answer but it isn't that simple. 6m you will get more hands/hour but also should have more hands that don't see a flop(no rake??)

It will be interesting to see how this 6m live poker plays out. Will some casinos do a rake reduction? switch to time games for 2/5? ....

You are entitled to some % of expectation of that +2 btw

id swear the max rake in the games now is only $3 per hand. and on a lot of the pots its probably raised and taken down preflop. so on many hands it would either be no rake, or maybe $12 out there preflop, and taken down on the flop for $1 rake. i seriously doubt in a 6 handed table more than $50 per hour is coming off the table. no wonder some of the bigger rooms outside of florida that have slots unlike florida wont offer poker right now.

Out are correct sir, just seems like I don't get my fair share of it.

FWIW, I was just happy they stopped at $2,
What keeps them from making it $5 + $3, $5 + 4,etc,
Then we can just play bingo......

I don't know if anywhere else in country outside of Florida takes $2.

If you want to know how it got to $2, read on.

When Calder Casino decided to open poker room, they hired day shift floorman from Isle who ran daytime tourneys, nice guy,no names.

They couldn't get a game going, so he went to $2 jackpot rake and had crazy promos, any aces cracked $50-$100, etc.

Eventually, all casinos down here in southeast Florida had no choice,
Mike Smith was poker room manager at the time, boy do we miss Mike,
Running Maryland Live now I think,.
He came out with post here, think old Isle thread, saying,
Geez guys sorry, no choice.

2 best poker room managers in the world both work in Maryland,
Mike Smith and Johnny Grooms, always played at Beau Ravage when John was there.
They have best rules in Biloxi,

$100 minimum $1- &2

Max ?

No max, think IP lets you buy in to match big stack, Beau,no max.

What are peoples opinions on food options?

Seems the only good place in the food court (Cuban) is no longer there and poker snack bar closed

What do you guys go for a quick bite?

I always like to take my own food. Put some snacks in my pockets and leave the rest in the car. Healthier and cheaper. Plus it gets me out of the chair to walk around more.

I'm too tired but would appreciate if anyone wants to type out what a nit might actually pay in rake, tips, and blinds if they play 1 hand per hour and 2 hands per hour, 3 hands etc. (I understand and for this example am totally disregarding that you win less money because there are less chips in the other stacks due to rake, and that the blinds are equally paid by everyone so neutral EV, etc., just asking for actual real cash cost in nit world.)

Postmates, Ubereats, Doordash food delivery? If you want to be really cool you could ask everyone at the table if they want anything...

as a nit i normally abhor time charges when im at a 8-9 handed table. for example, my game here is 9 handed (one of the few cities that is true for all of its pokerooms for the most part, but the moderators wont allow me to name the state in this thread because it supposedly doesnt have casinos). but to finish the story, i was in for a $5 per half hour time charge 9 times and id only won 1 small pot, so i essentially paid $45 in rake. i was stuck over $570 at one time and eventually ended up winning (which means playing so few hands paid off) but man i feel like i worked for this win. had to change rooms to do it and travel a few miles away. and i gave the first $5 tip id ever gave out the entire month. normally its $1 per pot (as long as im ahead, which is about 50% of the time). i also had to buy in very deep in the 2nd poker room, and flop aces full to win too. so it wasnt easy

And that was with a $4 rake and $1 jackpot drop,

With this $5 + 2 drop, Anything higher than $15.,
I don't believe
There are things called unknown unknowns. Those are things you don’t know that you don’t know. It’s hard to recognize all of the mistakes we make if we don’t know they are mistakes in the first place. 1/2 is beatable for more than $15/hr.

Last night was a full house with long waiting lists but probably due to promo they had running plus Friday. 7 handed with masks but the table stayed full with the occasional person going to bathroom, snack or smoke. Still have to sit with plexiglass around the table but it wasn’t too bad. I played $1/2 NL and there are still plenty of people donating. I would say almost every table was live except one or two but maybe because they didn’t have the staff to do those tables.

How are the 2/5 games here? With 2-4 running it surely can't be all reg-filled.

Lots of regs but they’re mostly bad.
