If you were a 10/20nl or 10/25nl player you would really have a problem with it being $5+$1 vs $8 or $9/half hour and no Jackpot?
I wish there was no jackpot in any of the NL games there but in reality there are tons of fish that play with the jackpot being part of the reason.
The money isn't the issue at those stakes. The two main problems are:
1. In the years and years I have been playing larger limits I have never seen a jackpot hit at a high-limit table. I would prefer not to donate a $1 each hand to some little old guy playing on a 2/4 FLH table.
2. If Hard Rock ever wants to compete in the high-stakes arena they need to learn how to make a proper decision, quell some of the badmouthing by actually changing their attitudes, and provide an atmosphere where people feel safe with +$10k on the table.
Silks and SKC have completely separate rooms where the larger games play. PBKC has a sectioned off area with a dedicated brush and high-stakes coordinator. That is what makes a difference, not an extra $1 an hour rake.
I hope I have to eat my words because THR has the potential to draw some very big fish, unfortunately the attitude towards players and lack of uniformity in rules makes their shot pretty slim.
