I already like this new poker room manager more than the last two... No flop no drop, rounding to 6 and using the promo money for actual good promos... Hope they keep it up!

Could someone give a quick update on what (if any) *limit* poker (any games) at stakes 10/20+ are running regularly here? Or if none, does anyone know the nearest place to Tampa that spreads such games? Thanks in advance.

There aren't any that run regularly at that level. There used to be a 20-40 mix game that rotated through 5-6 different games, and ran regularly a couple of times a week, but it hasnt run for a couple of months at least. I'm not aware of any room n Tampa that spreads limit games that high on a regular basis. Don't know about the rooms outside of Tampa.

seen far better promotions than this, some places, such as columbus used to do this for like 500 hours for 50 every week, i think delaware still has something similar to 10 hour theyve been running for years.

so apparently along with the rake changes, they modified the last aggressor rule

if river goes x/x, even if IP bet turn, OOP has to show first.

kinda stupid but ok

So you mean they now do it at cash tables in compliance with TDA Official Rules?

"17: Non All-In Showdowns & Showdown Order

A: In a non all-in showdown, if cards are not spontaneously tabled or discarded, the TD may enforce an order of show. The last aggressive player on the final betting round (final street) must table first. If there was no final round bet, the player who would act first in a final betting round must table first (i.e. first seat left of the button in flop games, high hand showing in stud, low hand in razz, etc.)."

haha yeah i guess so. didn't realize it was like that everywhere. tampa hardrock is the only casino i've played at rly. still kind of weird imo, but i guess i'm biased after playing with the old rule for a couple hundred hours now.

anyway, doesn't seem like people really know about it. the dealer at the time + the floor (who is a dealer) had no clue.

oh so wait, these are tournament rules. is it like this for cash at other casinos? vegas? LA?

Just depends on house rules.

Has anyone heard anything about the June promotions? They still haven't posted anything on their site and their mail flyer for the month was basically just about the monthly tournaments.

They are not on the website yet, but I just saw them on the Bravo app. Looks like high hands and the dollars for 75 hours are the same as May, but I didnt have them side by side to compare. The big difference is on Monday 3 June, when in addition to the regularhigh hands they are having two mega high hands, where the high hand for the six hour period from noon to 6 pm wins $10k, and the HH from 6pm to midnight also gets 10k. If two or more players tie for the Hh, they split it.

Correction to my previous post. I guess I scanned the Bravo too quickly. Turns out there is NO hourly promo in June. Just the high hands. No 75 hour promos at all.

Saw a post on reddit about the waits today, the wait lists looked like they were a mile and a half long with the high hand promo today, anyone actually wait in it to play, and how long did it take to get a seat?

Holy crap, so glad I stopped playing here. What an utterly mismanaged place that's either a graveyard or everyone waits forever, which deters future action and leads into graveyard cycle ad nauseum. Embarrassingly bad. Fire everyone

Went today/tonight since they had the 3k every hour, great promo theoretically, but unfortunately it was exactly what I figured it would be, basically it was biggest nit fest/people who had no idea how to play poker and not in the good way (which slowed up the games considerably), sitting, holding on to their $20.00 stacks for dear life unless they had a pocket pair... I'd say every 1/2 table I played or looked at had at least 3-5 players with stacks under 50... it was pretty painful, lesson learned....

Going to Florida for poker for the first time. I will likely be passing through Tampa, but considering everywhere else in the state. Any suggestions where I should play for $2/5 NL and $1/2 PLO?

Just saw there was a wait list (but no tables) for 1/3 NL at the Hard Rock? Is that a new thing? And if so, what are the limits? God I would love it if they actually ran a 1/3 games with a $100-$500 buy in there.. The 1/3 used to be so good at Derby before that changed the 1/1 to a 1/2 and basically killed the 1/3 games....

I can confirm the game ran last night. A dealer said it's been going for a week or two. I'm not sure what the max is, probably 500.

Did the derby 1/3 die out? That's a shame. It was a gold mine when I used to play it.

Yeah, unfortunately Derby changed their smallest game from a 1/1 with a max 80 buy in and started a 1/2 game instead (It used to be 1/1 or 1/3 so most people played the 1/3) now most people play 1/2 with a max 200 buy in, but it's 70% people sitting their with 100 or less, and just painful and the 1/3 games fizzled... sucks, like you said, the 1/3 game was a gold mine for a while.. by far the best game in town... Last two times I went there was only 2, 1/3 tables and it was basically just the same few grumpy old regs that wait for their pocket aces all day, and a few nits just waiting on a fish to show up, and they all attack lol nothing like the good ol days where chips were flying and 4-5 $1,000+ stacks per table were pretty much the norm

Derby Lane runs a Micro 1/2, a 1/2 and a 1/3. They get 2 or 3 tables of each running in the evenings. What died is their 2/5.

What games do you think will suffer from the new 1/3 game at the HR - 1/2 players moving up or some 2/5 players dropping down?

Or is this Hard Rock making a gradual transition to only 1/3 and killing the 1/2?

I feel like Hard Rock could support all 3... Derby doesn't have the crowd

Think we could easily see something like 10 1/2 tables, 6 1/3 tables and 4-5 2/5 tables.... I hope it becomes a thing though, was there tonight and when I got there, there wasn't a 1/3 running and only 1 person on the list, but would much prefer 1/3 and a $500 max buy in to a 1/2 game, and would be a nice step up for the 1/2 players that don't really have a 2/5 roll.....
