GOP books Hard Rock hotel for RNC week

http://www2.tbo.com/news/republican-...tel-ar-426718/

"One issue is what to do with guests who had reservations for that week."

I have never heard of people having reservations getting totally bumped out. All hotels in Tampa are sold out that week, so those people are out of luck now and they had reservations. lol

what is the policy of brush's coloring up chips for players?
Literally last night, I had like 2700 in reds, I asked the dealer to call for a brush for a color up. The brush came to do the well, and I asked him, I had already made 5 racks of red, for a color up. he said he didn't have the cart. I asked could he get the cart. he said no.
I asked if I could get a color up, and the brush literally said no. I ended up making 2 trips and coloring up myself. I could have argued more, but it was like 2 in the morning and he clearly didn't give a **** what I was saying.
Has anyone else had this problem? The players at my table agreed with me that it was ridiculous, and it opens the door to people taking money off the table etc.
In future what do I do in this spot?

I've had the same issue. If there doesn't happen to be a guy with the cart, they won't do it for you. It's stupid.

I think I might have been at your table, btw. Were you in Seat 2 on Table 19 playing 2/5?

My understanding is that the brushes are not allowed to do color ups without the cart.

In the past they were, but that job was taken away. What I heard is that a brush was asked to color somebody up in the back. They brought the chips back to the wrong player, who left with the money. The player who had asked for the color up asked where his chips were after waiting a while, and they were gone...

Yeh I was in seat 2. That game was ok but it was total ***** when I left.

That seems just crazy. Especially since on thursday I had a 2/5 transfer, and they would only let me bring 600 to the new game, so I stuck 300 in red in a rack under my seat which isn't a big deal, and a brush, who got me the transfer (I didn't even have to bribe him), took the rack and gave me 3 blacks without a problem.

Just saw in the HHR thread that HHR is now on Bravo Live. I went to Bravo Live and see that there is an entry for HHR but the games are not listed as yet but it looks like they are going to be on there soon.

They always try new things out at Hollywood hard rock 1st as thats where the big chiefs are. Once that is up and running for a few months then they will add it to the other properties I am guessing.

Sometimes when new poker rooms pop up on bravo live it takes several weeks before the games start showing up.

Perfect symbolism, of the GOP politicians and they're 2-faced treachery... They're all against gambling, etc....but I guess its perfectly acceptable to stay in a building whose main function is gambling and alchohol consumption.....? Mmmmmkay. Please let me see one of these cancerous invertebrates... /rant.

Had to share this before I hit the sack. Names, faces, places, and descriptions omitted to protect the innocent. Lol!

I am walking to my table in the poker room and I notice a women sitting alone at the next table texting on her phone or something. I cast her a quick glance, take my seat, and then get down to playing some cards. She was average looking, earlier 30's, etc. Pretty unremarkable....except....

Im playing for a little while and then I glance in her direction again and give her the one over...only this time i notice something. This woman had the hairiest legs I have ever seen. Lol! I dont mean for a women, or she hasnt shaved her legs in 4 days because its winter time and shes wearing pants...I mean ever in my entire existance of looking at human beings legs. She had austin powers chest hair below her thighs! Ok, ok, they were not that bad...but damn...it was like watching a train wreak man! I could not stop looking...! Haha... gotta love the THR...better than Walmart.

If I had 4-5 drinks in me I'm 99.5% sure I woulda asked if she was from France. Lol!

Funny incident a couple of nights ago concerning new ability to buy the button.

Seat 2 is button. Seat 3 sits down after missing his BB. Says he will buy the button, puts out a $5 and $2 chip. Dealer hesitates for a moment, then drags both chips into the middle of the table. Then he reaches over to seat 2, and slides the button over to seat 3.

I explain that he's actually buying it for the NEXT hand, not this one, and get the button and blinds squared away.

lol - that's not THAT bad compared to some of the things I've seen the dealers do here...

A couple weeks ago at my 2/5 game, like 4 or us and the dealer were talking about when a mucked hand was actually "dead"... Is it when there's forward motion past the player's chip stack? When it crosses the "betting line"? When it touches the muck? Are there different rules when a player is all-in?

The dealer was very adamant that once a player's cards cross the line, they're dead... We asked the very next dealer that said cards aren't dead until they hit the muck. lol

Had my first chance to play on one of the tables that had the new felt design on it, and was wondering what others thought about it.

I liked it a lot better than the old design. The new one has a much smaller betting area, and that gives players more room for chips, etc before you cross the betting line. This is especially better for seats 4,5,6,7 where the old table design only has 4-5 inches of space.

I also like the fact that the new betting area is within reach of the dealers with shorter arms, as I hate in when some people always would put their bets out of reach of the dealer. This slows the game down as each time the dealer has to ask them to push their chips closer.

The felt is some sort of other material, that the cards slide really easily on.

The thing I don't like is the color scheme. The outside section of light brown is fine, but having the betting area as red is bad, as the red chips blend in so well.

Don't know if they are looking for player input before they cover the rest. I hope they can change the color scheme.

Yea color could be a bit different. I like them tho. I belive its nylon. It looks like it won't get as dirty as the old ones that get pretty nasty.

Asking this at the THR poker room is like asking if we are alone in the universe.

Bravo Live! We're talking about a place whose TV monitors still broadcast in stunning low-definition in the year 2012, and you're talking about Bravo Live.

Very frustrating. I e-mailed the Hard Rock customer service since the poker room seems to be doing nothing. Will update if I ever hear back from them.

They re-covered another table today. Its the same layout as the original ones but I think its a different material so hopefully much better. Also built in drink holders.
Maybe they will go with this one for all the rest.

Ugh...I hate the table in the back of the room (#50) with the built in drink holders. The holders aren't aligned in any particular manner, and often end up being in exactly the wrong spot to put your drink.

For example, I hate having my drink right in the middle and having to reach an arm around each side to view my cards. I prefer to have my drink off to the side. I know others are just the opposite of me.

I played quite a bit in vegas at rooms with built in cup holders and when they are spaced correctly(Im not sure they are on the table I saw today) then everyone sits directly in front of your cup holder and its perfect. Seat 1 and 10 have their holder a bit off.

I am just used to having my drink in the middle of me, in fact when playing some places that don't have drink holders or tables when I was drinking beer, I would for sure want it inbetween my arms as I would never spill it that way, if its on your right or left its very easy to spill without a holder.

Yeah, when the cup holders are in front of every seat it makes it very easy to square up the table - and I too enjoy my drink in the middle.

That may be true; unfortunately, that's not how it is on table 50. Seat 10s holder is on far left, right next to the well. But then as you move to seat 9,8, etc, the holders gradually start sliding over towards the right. So some seats have the holders exactly where your arms go, others in the middle, and others on the side. In fact it makes it awkward to square the table because no one is sure where their seat is in relation to the cup holder.

I guess if every holder was in the middle of the seat area, I could live with it. But I wouldn't like it!
