I don't follow the poker legislative thread on 2+2 that closely and I am guessing neither do most FL poker players. I wanted to share this email I got today from the poker alliance about referendum vote that is on the FL ballot Nov 6.
"As a poker enthusiast, you care about the future of our game. That is why I am letting you know about a very troubling ballot referendum in Florida that is gaining momentum and needs to be stopped. Before you read any further, I am not asking you for money, but the Florida poker community is asking for your help.
Do you have any friends or family in the state of Florida? If yes, then please forward this email, pick up the phone or send a text and tell them to VOTE NO on Amendment 3.
Amendment 3 will make it very difficult -- if not impossible -- to expand gaming opportunities in Florida. If Amendment 3 passes it means there will be no new poker rooms, no chance to add new games at existing cardrooms, and, it forecloses on the opportunity for Florida to legalize internet poker and sports betting. This is information your Florida connections need to know. Please take a minute to share this special web page:

Your help is important because if we succeed in defeating this amendment in Florida, we can duplicate this grassroots effort across the country to promote laws that expand access to poker.
Early voting has already started in Florida, so it’s very important that tell your friends and family in the Sunshine State to VOTE NO on Amendment 3. Florida’s poker community is grateful for your help!
Proud to Play,
Mark Brenner, President

P.S. Please remember to forward this email, call or text your connections in Florida to let them know to vote NO on Amendment 3."
