I’ve been doing well at 2/5 and thinking of taking a shot at 5/10. How much tougher is 5/10 compared to 2/5?

Depends on the day. On the weekends when T/25 games are going it's not a whole lot tougher. More aggressive but usually plenty of weak players with deep pockets.

What day/time is the $31K drawing in August for the hours we earned in July? It isn't shown on the SHRTpoker website, though I heard they were doing it again, and it showed when I was checking my promos at the kiosk.

I think the 19th. It will say in the new August brochure. I haven't bothered to go to a drawing in a while though.

Does anyone pay attention to these for recurring tourneys:
SHRT Recurring Tourneys
Asking because I notice the tournament name/structures are showing for Jul 11 forward, but there's no data associated.

Is this normal, that the name is posted but the data is updated later? Or does it look like missing data that won't get posted?

Is the “$400 per 75 hours played” a recurring thing? Or temporary?

Unknown. They change up the promos pretty often but this is third month in a row they've had that one. It used to be the norm to have some kind of hourly promo every month and they just changed the numbers a bit, until early 2018 when they decided to switch to earning "tickets" towards an hourly drawing on a designated day each month. The drawings did not prove very popular so their solution was to halve the drawing funds and put the rest toward the hourly promo.

Much better if they just killed the drawings completely. I don't even bother to go anymore. Sit around all day on a Sunday hoping to win 500 bucks or one of the 4 to 5 5k prizes, out of several hundred entrants? Yeah no thanks.

Yeah, the whole drawing thing is absolutely miserable. The fact that they still haven't figured this out is baffling. I mean, it doesn't offer immediate potential or excitement, which is the thing you need to offer to all recreational players, and then it clogs up the room in a terrible way for the entire day in question.

HR management, if you're here, PM me if you want to hire someone who has common sense in planning promotions, thank you. You guys are utterly terrible at this.

Probably not the place for this, but I'm looking for a room to rent or a roommate in the Tampa/St. Pete area. Anyone have an open room or looking to rent something? I'm a full time locksmith, but play live and online as well.

Seriously, I accidentally went one Sunday when they were doing the promos, and it was legit, the most miserable poker experience of my life. The room was filled with zombies who clearly didn't want to be there, just basically going through the motions, hoping to bink their 1 in 2,000 chance in the drawing.... most people were either falling asleep at the table, bitching and moaning the entire time, playing 2 hands then walking around for 30 min, rinse and repeat or sitting there with $50 waiting to hit aces.

Switched tables 4 times in 4 hours, same thing at every table. Never again.

Please have a little creativity and come up with something new Hard Rock, no one wants to sit at the Hard Rock for 12 hours on a Sunday, and people don't want to play with people who don't want to be there.

Did you hear about the new hours promotion for September? They're not doing the $400 for 75 hours. They are only paying the players that finish in the top 50 in hours. 2-50 get $1,000. Whoever plays the most hours gets $2,000. Everyone else gets $0. I was told this was due to the main Bad Beat getting hit 3 times in a month and a half and they are low on promotion money. I have no idea what it will take to break the top 50. My guess is 225 hours.

people will cheat like a XX in this, they will let their friends give the dealer their card and the dealer wont know the difference, since only the first dealer will see it and everyone else just the first name.

You sure that is real? I can't find anything on website. If real then that is well and truly ****ed. Also pretty sure nonsense explanation since the BBJ funds come from a separate place than other promos. At least they're supposed to, but I suppose they could be mixing accounts together.

And Jesus what a miserable promo if you can't see the hours of the current top 50 (or just top 3 and number 50 would go a long ways). All the break even to slightly winning nits trying to get the 2k....and no way to tell if you're going to get paid 2k 1k or 0. And that's 51k spent on hourly promos. They drop like 50 an hour per table, probably 1k to 2k an hour average. How long does it take to replenish going like that?

If this promo is real I'm going to ignore it I guess. Play what I can play. Doubt I'll make the cut. No sense killing myself over the prospect of *maybe* making a bonus 1k...

lol. SHRT management has absolutely no clue what they're doing. More often than not it's like they're actively trying to make the games worse, make all the players enjoy it less, and make less money themselves. It's truly remarkable.

Was there the other night, word going around the room was someone hit the bad beat jackpot (at a 2/5 game), while while he was waiting around to get paid out, they called his name, and he won the daily casino promo for the free car as well.... Talk about a nice little day. lol

When I cashed out, they asked me for my player’s club card at the cage. First time this has ever happened. Does anyone know why they do that?

Is there any update on what the September cash/play promo will be? Continuation of the $400/75hrs? Or the $1000 to top 50 grinders? I

Every time I think about their newest promo I'm more amazed. Like, this has to be a spy from another poker room who infiltrated and convinced them to do this, right?

Holy actual ****. The people who play compulsively already... do that. You're not going to convince some recreational player that they can make top 50 or whatever

The promo is so bad it's goddamn hilarious. They've managed to come up with stuff that screws themselves and all of us at the same time. So brilliant

It might not be as stupid as you think. I heard similar logic when WPN establishes The Beast... it’s quite possible that the increased revenue from getting the top 80 grinders to compete against each other is worth more than incentivizing 80-5000 to come in an hour early on Tuesday?

To be clear, I’m
Not a fan. But I’m not so certain the math is clearlynon your side.
