The Hard Rock is hurting. Last night by midnight there were only two $5/10NL, one $10/25NL, and one $10/25PLO games running. By 2am, both $10/25 games broke and and there was only one struggling $5/10NL.
Yes, it was a Sunday night but we're not even 2 weeks into the honeymoon period of high-stakes poker in Florida and the Hard Rock should be the center of action in South Florida. It looks like a lot of players have had enough of the crappy security and poker room operations at The Rock and have chosen to take their business elsewhere.
In other news, I hear The Isle is doing really well...
+1 on poor poker room operations.
I was there last week looking to play my friend 20-40 heads up 2-7 Triple Draw. We got the okay to play from two floor people and the dealer.
After waiting 45 min they open the table for us and the dealer deals us two cards each. I tell him we need five for this game. He told us he thought we were kidding when we wanted to play 2-7 triple draw. I asked why would we be kidding? He didn’t have an answer. We asked the floor guy and he too thought we were kidding and figured everyone plays holdem.
He wouldn’t let us play 2-7 triple draw because he was worried for reason. I really don't know why. Then we asked if we can play Razz and again got a no.
I thought the law passed and we can play these game. Apparently not at the Hard Rock.
Eventually they let us play Stud H/L, but only if we pay $3 rake every hand. Greedy!
Last night I went to Gulfstream and they said they would be happy to spread 20-40 2-7 triple draw/razz heads up if they had an empty table and dealer. Plus they said it would be timed rake at $6.
Much better operations at the pari-mutuels.
