Am in town visiting for approximately two weeks. Anyone got any ideas about what casinos here in Seattle area are good for tournaments?

I saw what most were saying about the cash games, but sadly I'm not really much of a cash game player.

I know that Muck has their big $1500 tourney going on this week, but honestly that's a bit too rich for my blood. Looking at something more 50 - 200ish.

Dude live tournaments in that buy-in range are a joke. I live near Seattle, and trust me, it ain't worth it. You'll find yourself short-stacked after the first hour -- you'll be lucky to play 3 hands before you start pushing and praying. Just stay home and play on Stars, that's what I do.

Nothing wrong with pushing! It's fun.

Anyway, Thursdays in July at Parker's they're running $750/hr high hands plus other monte carlo bonuses, which is really awesome. 6-12 tables running.

I've never been to Parkers but I read online that they only have 6 tables. They must have expanded.

As for the tourney question,

For low buy ins during the evening, Muckleshoot ($65) and Tulalip have them. And during the mornings, Snoqualmie casino has $30 and $60 dollar buy ins. The weekend tourneys are the best bet.

Parker's has $40 buy-in, no rebuys, $5 optional dealer toke (bonus chips) with $500 added on Sundays. They usually get 50-70 people.

Checked out Muck this sunday for that "big" 750k guarantee $1500 buy in that they were supposed to have. Was supposed to be three day tourney basically. When I left about an hour into the tourney (was just observing), they had 70 people signed up to play, a far cry from what they thought they'd be getting (not to mention they took down the guarantee sometime this past week).

Just figured out that Diamond Lil's is literally right next door to my hotel so might go and check that out this week. Otherwise, just been playing those rush tournies on FTP all week.. been a lot of fun actually.

hehe.. had some business to attend to in Kent. Did the priceline name your own price and it put me at the holiday inn here. Certainly not a great hotel by any stretch of the means. Wouldn't exactly call it a 3 star like advertised...

Has anyone been to Angel of the Winds in Arlington? I guess they have a small no limit game every night and a tournament Friday night. Any reports?

I ended up there when they re opened. Its not bad but no action either, I mean why play there when you can just go to Tulalip

how does the action at Snolqualmie compare to the muckleshoot 3-5 SL? I've thought about driving up there, but so far I've only played at the muck

Sometimes I can't believe how good the Muckleshoot is.. but once in a while I'll get in a game that's not very good.

I think that that was all they got, and ended up cancelling the extra days. I figured that everybody who wanted to play $1500 buyin just got back from Vegas and so there would be no demand. I mean if you can afford a $1500 buyin in the first place you can afford to go and play in the frakking WSOP for the same price. If they had it in May they could spin it as WSOP practice or something and maybe get more interest.

If I had registered on the basis of the guarantee I would be rather put out. "750k guaranteed... unless we would have to overlay... then it's not guaranteed"

I don't care for Snoqualmie, poker room is way too small and crowded, not enough different kinds of games (basically they only have one level of NL with $5 bb and $300 buyin which is lame) and the dealers let the regular players get away with just about anything. "Are you going to call? Yes? Ok then I fold"

So with Muckleshoot, 3/5 is the lowest buyin at NL which means it gets the weak players, vs. at Tulalip where the bad players and scared money tend to play 1/3. I have only been there a few times but I agree the 3/5 seems a lot softer than Tulalip. On the other hand - Tulalip is a much nicer casino. Muckleshoot poker room is too dark and smoky for me and they use cheap low quality chips, and the rest of the casino reminds me of a Chuck E Cheese.

Snoqualmie is probably about as nice as Tulalip if they would play fair and move the poker game out of the janitor's closet.

PLEASE SAY SOMETHING TO THE DEALER AND THEN TO THE FLOOR! This behavior is completely unacceptable to players and to the dealers that are doing their job properly. Problems won't be fixed if they are not brought to the attention of those who can do something about it.

Where are the places to play limit /pot limit/ spread limit (2-40 card rooms i guess?)/ or no limit , Omaha hi/lo and Omaha hi.

I heard Angel of Winds now plays twice a week.

Nooksack casino on Mt. Baker(20 min. from Bellingham) just restarted the Thr nite 7pm start 4/8 1/2 kill Omaha8 game, with 1-2 tables going last couple weeks.

Also Slo pitch pub in Bellingham, (across from Bellis fair mall), has 2 strong tables of 4/8 1/2 kill limit O/8 every sun at 11am till late as well. 1/2 off meal with a bit of play as well.

Your observations regarding the Muck and Tulalip are on point. The Tulalip 3/5 NL is much more aggressive than the Muckleshoot. I'm not sure why, my guess is that the area is nicer, maybe more smart and rich people there, while the Muck gets a lot of the sick degens..


The rest of the casino reminds you of Chuck E Cheese? lol I just know on the weekend it can get pretty ghetto near the dance floor.

Also, it would be nice if more of the pretty Asian girls would play the no limit games rather than 3-6 and 4-8 The other week i was sitting next to an obnoxious overweight guy who smell very bad

A lot of the advice above is quite laughable..

Snoqualmie's dealers are far more competent than Tulalip or Muckleshoot.. and the floor at Sno makes fewer mistakes and "coddles regulars" far less. However Snoqualmie is not near population centers and the room is smaller and slower so you risk making a drive there only to find little action sometimes.

And Tulalip's 3/5 being more "aggressive" doesn't mean Muckleshoot is a softer game in comparison lol. If it's rich aggressive donks making moves then that game is softer, and The Muck has too many limit tables going so the 3/5 can feature a lot of limit players sometimes which turns into a nitfest.

Lastly, double L-O-L at poker players complaining about Muckleshoot having a rundown, degen, ghetto casino setup and poker room... seriously, poker players complaining about some place looking degen & ghetto = prostitutes complaining about promiscuity in society.... and I bet that prostitutes take showers more often than poker players!

PS to the poster above, if you really want pretty Asian girls you would go to a club or college campus not anywhere near the pokah-room sir..

Well, I know is the Muckleshoot is usually a pretty soft game, with rare exceptions. The few times I've been to the Tulalip, the game was tighter and more aggro. If this is an exception, than I stand corrected.

So is PLO going anywhere?

I believe they had a PLO (not 100% sure) game going at the Muck on Saturday, it was only 5-handed though..
