Coming to Seattle on business 11/7-10 and will be able to play poker on Tues and Wed night. I've read through the thread and gathered that NL (actually SL, but, at $500, close enough) is only offered at the three Indian casinos. I'm staying in downtown Seattle and google maps tells me they are all pretty equidistant from my hotel. Is there some other factor that makes one easier to get to than the other two?

So, given I want to play $2-$5/$3-$5 or $5-$10, where will the games be the best on Tues or Wed night? I think Snoqualmie is out because of the funky $300 max buy-in, but if the games are best there I'd make an exception.

And are the nightly tournaments any good? Buy-ins are small and they're turbos, but if there are enough people it might be worth a few hours.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Then I'd go to Tulalip... the Muck is ok but kinda scummy and runs a turbo nightly 7pm $80 or so tourney that's a ship fest.

Cash games were much better at Tula.

Haven't been to snow so I can't answer that one.

Traffic can be really bad in the Seattle metro area. Getting from downtown to any of the three tribal casinos will involve some freeways that can get totally jammed. You might want to check this out when you're trying to decide where to drive:

WSDOT Seattle Area Traffic - Traffic Conditions and Travel Alerts

I'm not a NL/SL or tourney player so I can't really offer any advice on that, except that Tulalip and Muckleshoot are the larger rooms so probably will have a better selection of games.

Just browsed the Muckleshoot website for the first time in a while. They've redesigned it and added some things.

http://muckleshootcasino.com/games/poker

What caught my eye was this:
Quote:
10/20 Limit Club

Join the Poker room every Thursday at 11am for a 10/20 limit game of Texas Hold'em.
Anyone been to check this out? Is this game going reliably? Any opinions about game quality?

Thanks for the link. I'm suffered Seattle traffic before but this will come in handy. Only place I've played there is some 20-40 limit at Diamond Lil's a few years ago.

I've got to drop some people at SeaTac on Tuesday afternoon and that puts me 1/2 way to Muck anyway so I'll probably start there.

it reopens on Oct. 31st. This guys trip isn't till Nov. 7th.

You will not be able to find a 5/10 nl game anywhere on Tue./Wed. night. We do play a 5/5 PLO game at Snoqualmie on Tuesday nights that usually has 2 tables. As far as 3/5 games, I would just go to the casino that you can get to the fastest/easiest. If you are going to stay till Thur. night you will find a pretty good 5/10 game at Tulalip.

Ah didn't read that. Still the Viaduct will be cut down to two lanes then. I hate traffic in this city.

light rail tho

(i have a colleague -- who lives in renton and works in factoria and hence commutes on 405 every day -- who said he didn't see the point of light rail and doesn't want his tax dollars supporting it. as someone who lived in the bay area for many years and has used real public transit in numerous cities throughout the world, i nearly lost my ****.)

what, this isn't the "lc/nc thread for people who live in seattle"? oh, my bad.

Hmmm... a 5/5 PLO game could have some appeal. Min/max buy-in? I assume that bets are capped at $500 once the pot gets that big?

Thanks for the information.

actually it's 600 min, 2000 max at Snoqualmie. The game usually starts around 2:00ish. Sometimes the 2nd game never gets going and there can be a long wait for the first if you don't get there early enough.
